I wonder how involved he is in the recruiting process? I don't hear much about him in regards to recruits.

I can't verify but I read an article that said once Strowbridge decommitted that Eliot would not be bringing in any recruits this class. If that's true, he better hope his friendship with Stoops is enough to keep his job past next year because nobody has been impressed with his DC abilities.

Nice guy, but UK can do much better

Could be why he tapped Andy Buh a defensive coach for the open spot on the staff. If the defense struggles again this year Buh could move into the DC spot.

The whole Allen recruitment only lasted a few hours, and I understand that Stoops and Elliot were the ones that looked at his film and immediately told Mainard to go there and if he looked OK offer him, and when Mainard saw him walk out of a class he offered him immediately and told the coach to call his mother to set up a meeting.

He is not the main recruiter but he helps all the assistants in any recruitment that needs his help. This was brought up on another site by someone in the know supposingly.

Eliot doesn't seem to be too involved. On the other hand I don't think Mainord and Ansley are getting enough credit for how good they've been doing on the recruiting trail.

Your prime recruiters are your position coaches. Which is why you don't see Elliot mentioned often. The one I think must be holding the bag man is Schlarman. Offensive line is easiest our most under performing positions, and never here him associated with the recruiting hauls like a Mainord Scott or even Brown, and like I said it's sad if the coordinator is out recruiting you

Careful what you say about Schlarman. I mentioned him earlier and someone about bit my head off saying he is the lead recruiter for Drake Jackson. If so, I guess he's earned a little bit of his paycheck. I still don't know about his coaching abilities.

I won't bit your head off but he has a good group this year, not a great OT in the group but the rest seem to be good. Plus doesn't he have a couple of big uglies for 2016? As far as coaching until he doesn't have walk-ons starting that were better then the players that were here in the beginning we might not know how good he is at coaching until he gets scholarship players playing the line.

Isn't he the kid from Versailles? I mean good Lord, you would surely hope we can sign 90% of the good players from central Kentucky, no matter who is recruiting them. Of course, we missed on Luke Stocker, Lamar Dawson and Damien Harris, and those were big, big misses, but you can't miss many or you won't be around long at UK.
