dirty refs

We shoulda been up by 10 instead of fighting for our lives. Refs tried hard to take this one from us.
Now this is a ridiculous take. The refs aren't trying to take victory from anyone. Are they great at what they do? Not by a long shot, but the paranoia is over the top here. Three out of the top five threads on here, at submitting of this post, are crying about the refs. If you're a player, or team, just do your job correctly and move on to the next play. That's what Pope has been telling these guys, stop whining and just play!

In a really tight game.... bad calls can change momentum, effect play and lead to one team having an advantage over the other.
Did we throw the ball away a couple of times? Absolutely. That's on us.
But the AND ONE NBA continuation call was egregious. Not even a judgement call...just plain terrible.
The MMA throw down of Carr was also terrible. Even worse on replay.
And the ONLY reason Fears was able to score the potential game winning basketball was because Carr was gang banged to get the ball. 99.9 percent of the time that is called a foul.
Were the refs doing it to enable a desired outcome? I'm not gonna go there. But I can tell you that those calls in particular were atrocious.
You've got your opinion and I've got mine. Who's to say which is correct.

My takes are never popular when it comes to the whistle. I say control what you can control. He let himself get bullied. He has to either get rid of that ball or hang on to it. Get back in the weight room
Son!
My goodness man. Watch the replay. #2 was fouling the living shit out of Carr - actually intentionally to stop the clock and extend the game. Raked, completely grabbed and put into a submission hold, then the ball was taken. He’s literally bear hugging Carr. This is why your takes are considered bad. Because they are. Especially on this one. Ref makes that call it’s most certainly game over. I usually don’t have a problem with your opinions, but this one specifically is just not based in fact and considering the rules of the game. Weight room ain’t helping that; it was 3 on 1 with #2 molesting Carr from behind.

No, you are correct about those things, it's just that there are some here who ALL THEY DO is worry about the refs. If you're good enough at what you do, then refs are somewhat irrelevant to the outcome. Unless folks are actually just betting on the games and worried about the ref's impact on that. Try not to stress yourself out.

Well you brought up additional situations that I wasn’t commenting on and accused me of having a bad take. Play fair. I was only talking about the Carr strip in the last minute. Carr got out muscled. They took the ball from him and in my opinion it was clean. He has to at least hold on for a jump ball. The defenders have a right to the ball. There will be contact inevitably. I did not think there was a foul there.

My takes are unpopular in regards to officials because I don’t have a victim complex. We won the game and it was a classic and there were multiple threads started to cry over calls. That’s weird to me

This. If you lose by 20 you can say the officiating wasn’t good. But can’t say it’s the reason we lost.

If you lose by 1-2, to a decent team, you can absolutely say it’s a reason you lost.

Carr literally got mugged on that take away and good for nothing Oglesby was looking right at him and no call. I mean I could steal the ball too if my teammate was pinning one of the opponents arms down. I lost it when I saw that. That was BRAZEN cheating. Problem is as a coach you cant lose it there. Because if you do you get Td up and cost your team the possession and potentially the lead.

I’ve never been a proponent of violence on officials but that was the kind of night where an errant pass should have found its way to a ref. Happens in football a lot. Ref screwing you over? Mow him down on the next run. He’s part of the field of play.

SEC has got to fix its officiating.

No, I’m speaking directly about the “strip” you say was clean. Everything I described above can be seen in replay. Bear hug man - raked, held, hugged. I have no problem with you personally, I like your posts, you seem like a good dude. No worries, I just completely disagree with you on that one specific “non foul.” Just watch it again.

Totally fine. I have two takes that I get killed on. Officials and the new wildcat logo (it’s awesome). I own them both
