As best I remember the Dad was a handful.
The bad thing about them being overrated was that our coaches took both of them and u see what happened. They were awful. Do we have anyone who can evaluate talent? Stoops was all over Brock right away and I bet didn’t give any other Qb’s a look and Brock was awful even when healthy. What a staff. Geez.Neither of them are even listed on any of the depth charts I've seen. If they were unhappy at UK, they should be fuming right now. At least UK gave them the opportunity to demonstrate how overrated they were.
We definitely need major improvement in the evaluation department. It is frightening how many 4 star recruits never even sniff the field for us. I bet if one did some digging, we would likely discover that many of our 4 stars were passed over by the bigger programs, which probably explains how we obtained most of them in the first place. We seem to do a lot of throwing chit at walls and hoping it sticks. But hope isn't and never will be a plan. The bad thing about them being overrated was that our coaches took both of them and u see what happened. They were awful. He isn’t starting. Guarantee they give the keys to that Five star QB they signedKeaton appears to have been 3rd on their team with 4.5 sacks (Weaver led our team with 5 for comparison). That’s not an All-American season, but it’s solid enough that I’m not sure it’s fair to label him some kind of embarrassing bust. I doubt he’s regretting the transfer since Colorado was 9-3 and we were a disaster.
Destin is logged as having entered 1 game, but didn’t record any stats. Next year will be the telling one for him though because I can’t imagine that even he and his dad expected to take playing time away from Shedeur this year. I’d still be surprised if he ends up starting next year based on what he showed here, but I guess we’ll see.
