I get that he and Cal are long time friends and go way back but from where my perspective "someone with little to none inside knowledge" I gotta ask did Slice help us? Cal hires him and he comes on board supposedly with the inside track on Diello. Now he brings him in for some visits and maintains contact but never gets a commitment from him, verbal or otherwise. He also took over the recruitment of Steven Zimmermann at a time when I'm confident he told Cal he was coming as long as the guys went pro. During this time Slice let's UNLV get back into the picture. Slice also was given the task of securing us a 3 spot which he clearly hadn't done. Now I know I'm over simplifying things here and there are alot of variables. However from where I sit he has failed on all fronts. To add insult to injury it now looks as if Slice will sign Diello at St. Johns. Cal and Slice talk about their days when they both working camps trying to break into the business but let's look at that. Cal obviously has become a great deal more successful than Slice and could there be some hidden animosity on his part. I know that's reaching but if Diello sign's with St.Johns then too me that's a clear sign that Slice could of had him anytime he wanted and was waiting to see how his own situation worked out before pulling the string? Cal is a great recruiter and there IMO is no one better. Having said that I would like to see the next front man in recruiting " the guy that makes first contact and baby sits recruits" be a younger version of himself like Orlando Antigua was ?
