Did Pitino pass on Mulder ?

UL was on this kid before UK even heard of him. He visited & never got an offer

Now UK fans are acting like he is the savior of next year's team. As much as UL needed talent & they passed on him.......that is a concern, imo.

I think the "concern" from UK fans and UofL fans is really getting out of hand in regards to UK's talent for next season. I'm not sure who is claiming Mulder is a savior, but any rational fan would realize he is there to fill a void, not be a superstar or savior. Seems obvious to me. UK is trying to plug some potential holes but I think they'll be fine.

They'll have an excellent point guard returning who can also knock it down from the outside in Ulis. He's lost one game in college so far. ONE. They have an excellent combo guard in Briscoe coming in, they have the best recruit in the nation in Skal coming in down low. They have a solid forward in Alex Poythress returning with years of experience. They have an underrated SG in Charles Matthews coming in who can no doubt score and is very athletic. Marcus Lee might be limited offensively but if you look at his contribution per minute over his career he will do more than help out. Dominique Hawkins isn't exactly a slouch. Can Willis contribute? He can score but has to play D. Can Mulder knock down some 3s? Yes. Is he athletic enough to contribute? Yes. That's all a rational person can ask for. Anyone claiming that "UK fans think he's a savior" is just someone on a message board exaggerating something that's not really there.

Every. Single. Team. in the nation has question marks. People are freaking out cause UK doesn't have a star at every position, but they've got PLENTY to work with. They'll be fine.

UofL on the other hand is gonna suck. I'm sorry, but they are a mess down low and if anyone is acting like they've got saviors coming in, it's Louisville fans. A couple mid-major transfers are gonna make your season? Good luck with that. If anyone NEEDS them to be saviors, it's UofL, cause if not, they're in for a long season. UK will be okay whether or not Mulder is great or not.

Who exactly is acting like he is a savior? He is role player. I swear some of you people make crap up because you love drama.

Coaches can't watch recruits playing with or against current players, so Pitino seeing nothing he liked out of Mulder at a scrimmage against UL players would be a blatant (but minor) NCAA violation if it were true.

Actually, a former student of mine is currently a student manager at UofL. He is in the practice facility every day. He said Moulder wasn't that impressive....just telling you guys what he told me, So, yes.......You heard it here first!

Must have been a shitty student.

Please show me one post, just one that said this kid was our savior? Like UK needs saviors. Smh.

MULDAR AINT NO GEEEEEWD! HE AINT NO FHIVE STAR CRUIT!! LOUISVILLE PASHT ON EM!!! WE NEED MORE 5 SHTAR CRUITS!!! FAR CAL!!!!

No offense Mike, but I do not understand why people(like JasonSpear) and yourself post like that sometimes. What am I missing? Is it supposed to be funny? Thanks in advance.

I'd be a little more concerned about the trolls in this thread myself. At the end of the day, I could give a crap less if Louisville offered Mulder or not. Does it mean he's now a lesser player because of it? And what do you all think Louisville fans are going to say about Mulder now that he's at UK anyway? That he's great? No. He's terrible. He wasn't good enough for mighty Louisville. We have some fans that think every player has to be rated 5 stars or that player is garbage. So forgive me if I offended you, but the mindset is stupid.

If you are referring to me, I never said a single thing that you said in your post.

I was referring to other people in this thread. I was only talking to you when I apologized good sir.

I for one think it's good to have some guys that aren't likely to leave in one year. I can never judge how good a player is going to be until I see them at UK in an actual game. Besides I'm a big Mulder fan ever since they came out with the x-files from Canada.

Thank you. This was my point in my post. A visit is for the kid, it isn't a high school tryout.

Actually, the kid got a national championship ring and a big east championship watch for his contributions to the cards in 12-13 season. So no, my source is legit, not made up
You can say anything. That doesn't mean any of it is true. And none of it is true. You are trolling tard fan. That's it.

So Louisville has a roster full of players that we would never offer and they are gritty, and tough, and L1C4.

Flip it around and let us take on one guy that they maybe didn't want, and it's a regional panic.

Sounds about right.

In Mulder we get a guy who has proven he can hit more than 40% from 3 point range. If opposing teams concentrate on him too much as Bruce Pearl said after some of his players at UT were arrested for carrying guns with serial marks filed off, "We still have weapons". If you leave Ulis open he can hit a high percentage of 3's as well. Briscoe is also a good 3 point shooter. If Poythress is healthy next season and with Skal we won't be bad down low. We just won't have the depth of last season, but there won't be any need for platooning.

Why does this UL troll have a UK username? Did he actually think he could fool anybody on here? I sniffed him out his very first post.

Why in the world would there be concern? We can argue about many things, but is there anyone who would argue that Pitino has a better eye for talent than Calipari? How many misses does Cal have - how many kids has he taken and you say "Not sure what Cal saw in him, but whatever it was, he was wrong"? Hardly any. Compare that with Rick, not only in Louisville but with the Celtics, where his notorious lack of GM skills is what got him run. How many kids has he touted at Louisville now play in the YMCA?

A thumbs down from Rick Pitino should be comforting........

mike marra told me that petino has a better eye for talent than cal does. fwiw.
