My neighbor and my daughter inlaw's stepdad are Dirty Bird fans. They and a couple of other fans have all made it a point to inform me that they passed on Michael Mulder. Now I'm not sure if this is true but watching Mulders video's this seems ridiculous . Now it may be my lack of knowledge of recognizing talent but Mulder looks like a really athletic player and it seems to me he is better than any of their starters. If in fact the Birds did pass on Mulder, well I for one hope he goes for 30 against them. Is it really possible Pitino passed on Mulder and if so wonder what he's smoking.

Never listen to dirty bird fans. If Pitino wasn't interested, he wouldn't have visited Mulder.

Louisville fans must be celebrating in full force. We landed a kid that they backed off of. I guess they backed off from every other recruit we've landed over them the last six years, too. I'm so glad Pitino has backed off all of these recruits or we don't make four Final-4's under Cal. Thanks Rick. Thanks Tard fans. You guys are the best.

Well, I have a friend that is real close to the program. He informed me when Mulder was on his visit he was not impressive at all. He struggled to guard Levitch, a walk on. Couldn't hit shots when defended. According to him, UL backed off. I hope this is incorrect. We shall see.

So Mulder was having scrimmages with the team on his visit? Not sure if I believe that. Also, Pitino was at these scrimmages and evaluating Mulder on his visit? Usually the visit is for the player to get a look at the university and see if it is a fit for him. I don't think most visits are like high school tryouts as your friend would lead you to believe.

Oh Pahhlease.LMAO. I have a hard time believing sometimes that UL fans actually believe their own S&%$, Then i see quotes like this. Wow.

Not sure if serious as no one can as dumb to A. make that up or B. believe it . UL has zero talent now and Mulder would at worst be the 2nd best player on that squad.

I'll never forget when Pitino backed off of Marquis Teague and how lucky we were when he fell in our lap.o_O:D
Well, on most visits the guys play pickup games. You guys crack me up. I am just passing on info. We will see soon enough. If I would have said that he dominated everyone on their team, I would be the greatest poster ever. I am just telling you what I was told. I didn't see it so it could be false. We will see soon enough.

I heard that he worked out at UofL and the staff was not impressed, then when the Lewis kid came available Moulder was dropped form the priority list, we will see.

I have it on good authority from Louisville fans that Pitino also "passed" on Wall, Davis, Gilchrist, and any other player who didn't commit to Louisville in the history of their program. Louisville's never missed out on a recruit fairly, they were all just "Selfish, me first, one and dones who had their hands out."

We got involved with Mulder and the writing was on the wall. The Cleveland St kid is just an attempt at a face saving excuse. It is sort of like Roy pulling a scholly offer after being informed their out.

Yes we shall see? It's interesting how 2 coach's can have different perceptions. From most everything I've read Mulder's first step is really quick and that's how he creates his shots by using the step back or driving to hole. It will be curious if he plays significant minutes against them and does well. What will the bird brains say about that or at least put their spin on it?

Oh you did? Then it must be legit. You heard it here first, folks.

Good thing is that Mulder won't be depended on much next year, especially if we add Vick or Murray. Mulder will be a solid rotation player who will not be asked to start.

With the lack of talent on the ul roster, i find this to be very hard to believe. When you're good enough to play for the best recruiter in the college game, i think you might just be okay. I think it's pretty obvious what happened here. When Cal comes calling, Rick just backs off to try and save face. It's not like Rick ever beats Cal for a recruit. Why would this recruit be any different?

UL fans are the biggest liars in the state. I don't believe they passed on Mulder plus they would not know talent if it jumped up and bit them.

Anyone else notice how catsfan70 liked everything that divrdwn1969 posted? Clearly a troll. Stop making it so obvious.

Don't know and don't care. I do know he will be 2-0 against UL his two years here.

The bottom line is UL scouted Mulder for much of the winter. Pitino went to watch him play as well. He even came for the official visit but left without an offer. At that point the UL sites suggested that UL decided to pursue several 5th year senior transfers instead of Mulder. Most felt if UL had offered Mulder he would have committed. Remember Mulder was not even on the UK radar at this point. In the end I think had UL not been successful with the transfers they might have offered Mulder. He just was not their first choice. He is a great shooter so there must have been something else in his game that Rick did not like.

When players come in for official visits they do play pick up games with the current players so the current players can see how he fits in. They probably do it at UK as well. These kids play basketball all the time.

They do it at UK everytime . All colleges do. A lot of people are clueless about what goes on visits. Watch I can see it now , mulder will torch louisville when they come to lexington.

Actually, a former student of mine is currently a student manager at UofL. He is in the practice facility every day. He said Moulder wasn't that impressive....just telling you guys what he told me, So, yes.......You heard it here first!

UL was on this kid before UK even heard of him. He visited & never got an offer

Now UK fans are acting like he is the savior of next year's team. As much as UL needed talent & they passed on him.......that is a concern, imo.

The two transfes were the first options. That leave one scholarship available, and that is on hold for Rowan if he can reclassify.
Why is that hard to believe? There is talent on this team, its just unproven right now. Most of the roster were top 100 players, so the potential is there.
I don't have a dog in this fight.

huh? Mulder will be the leading 3 pt man on next year's squad and is light years better then Vick . Vick isn't helping KU or UK much next year regardless but thats alright as not every player has to be 1 or 2 and done . MUlder is damn good player from everything i have seen as the 2 things that translate on any level are shooting ( which is amazing at ) and leaping ability ( again amazing at ) . He might struggle at times on D but his offense is good enough to overlook that .

I don't know about Moulder, but I heard Mychal Mulder was really good.
