Diallo has the potential to be a good shooter

I don't really care how well Diallo shoots from 3, more importantly would like to him hit short pull up jumpers and floaters in the lane. If he can hit those it will make him unguardable.

Anyone has the potential to be a good shooter. That is one of the easiest things to improve in basketball. It's a lot more difficult to improve your quickness, your vertical, your ability to think ahead of the action. To be a good shooter you just need to learn good form, and lots of practice with it. Most don't focus enough on their arc, and simple geometry & trigometry shows that a flat shot doesn't have as good a chance of going in (you lose your margin for error) as one with more arc. But that has to be balanced with your strength and ability to repeat the same shot.

I am a good shooter, but I am slow (& old), with no vertical (never had one), and basically need you to be lazy on defense to get my shot off. Wasn't always one, but I learned the correct form and practiced it (all as an adult). I could have doubled my vertical and I still would have never had one. So if you are gifted with quickness and a vertical, just get the proper instruction and put in the work on your shot, and it will come.

And since when do we compare statistics for an NBA player over the course of a career to that of a one year college player.

For perspective, the terrible shooting UNC championship team had 5 guys over 31% from 3 this year.

So to reiterate, to the initial response, if he does not shoot 31% I'm not sure how much "respect" he's going to get especially when you have guys around him who are inexperienced unproven shooters. In that case, he won't be shooting many anyways and a guy like Gabriel better step up.
Tayshaun Prince I believe shot 32% from 3 his last year I dont recall anybody thinking he was a bad shooter.
