Devin Booker is on 🔥

Booker had 29 in the 1st quarter last night at Indiana- I watched the entire first half and live in Phoenix so I watch some of the Suns games- Booker has great range, can really shoot- IMO, I think the officials are terrible in the NBA and college- guys never get touched and have fouls called on the defense and then I see guys get hammered and no foul is called - officials have so much control on how games play out
Couldn't shoot against Wisconsin!

It really is crazy how dramatically the way NBA games are officiated has changed in just the last couple decades.

Go back and watch some of those playoff games from the late 1990s and then watch the way NBA games are played today. It’s like a night and day difference. Back then defenses were allowed to basically beat the shit out of guys. Now they’re barely allowed to breathe on them. And I’m not saying either approach is entirely right, but geez, you’d think the league would be able to find some happy medium in between those two extremes.

How many points could Michael Jordan have gotten against defenses as they’re played today?
Well Michaeld did score 63 in a playoff game.

After reading that last post, I decided to look up the stats from the 1985-86 season when Jordan went off for 63 points against the Celtics. That Bulls team would rank 27th in scoring today (109.3 PPG). Only teams worse would be the Hornets, Blazers and Grizzles.

But also put in factor that it was physical contact basketball 🏀 and actually played defense
