Destin Wade???

Until Wade competes in spring ball and moves up depth chart he’ll be looked as a guy we took to get his brother at DE and him as athlete
And, then?

No one here knows Jack crap about his future. Scang says he has dramatically improved. Stoops says if he continues to work as he is, he could be the guy in a couple of years.

The idea that this issue is settled is (1) not true and (2) makes for a thread with a bunch of dumb opinions during a down week.

Well...nor do you to be quite honest.

If we bring in a portal QB with 2 or 3 years of eligibility who is heads/shoulder ahead of Sheron/Wade/Hogan....it will say a lot about their future as it did for Gatewood/Allen (neither of who stuck with past 12 months).

Hank Bachmeier looks to be the best QB in the portal so far. A 62% completion rate and a zillion yards passing. Can't replace experience like that with a young player.

Always hilarious to see someone question those that have seen his noodle arm with their own eyes, over three years. You want to talk about his athletic ability, I'll never dispute it. Kid is a freak. BUT HE"S NOT AN SEC QUARTERBACK. Period.

Accept the fact that your staff sold him on the chance to play QB, which technically, they've followed through on. Now you've got a stud athlete with a redshirt & Keaten is already producing on D. Seems like a pretty solid recruitment for you guys.

I really hope that he does play QB, as it gives UT an immediate advantage, unless UK starts running the Wing T.
Ah! now your true colors are showing. You’re the butt hurt UT fan parent whose kid didn’t see the field because he wasn’t good enough to hang with Destin and the big boys. Hate that for ya.😭

My kid is 5' 1", 104 lbs. And a girl. She is a cheerleader, though. Nice try.

I also never said he wasn't an INCREDIBLE high school QB. He most certainly was. However, point still stands. My daughter has as much business playing QB in college.

To have pulled even with Kaiya (who has looked decent in the times he’s played) as a true freshman is reason for optimism. By all accounts he is a hard worker and has all the physical tools & a good teacher, so I wouldn’t count him out. Big, strong kid with good arm strength (despite what my fellow Middle Tennesseean has said), but has had some mechanics issues. I’m sure he’s worked to fix that with his “QB guru” OC. Fixing that kind of a shot put mechanics will also help him out with velocity. I don’t think he starts next year-that will likely be a transfer, but he’ll play some. These UT fans putting down his arm strength but acting like Hooker has Will Levis arm strength is comical. They took Hooker out at the end of the 1st half against Bama for the Hail Mary because I’m not sure he can throw it 55 yards through the air. Destin can do that right now. Take a look at a few of these as a senior in HS with less than perfect mechanics. The second play he hits his receiver in stride as he was being hit for 45 yards. At :45 he hits another receiver in stride from over 50 for a TD. That was as a teenage kid, not a 25 year old man (or close to 25) like Hooker.

Just don't know what more you'd expect from a 17 y/o kid. And he didn't cost $8M.

Going out on a strong limb and say this kid will be an excellent qb at UK. He's got it all. Where did this noodle arm BS come in?

I gotta admit . I’m still shocked that with the system you are running and the way you are using the NIL , that Arch Manning chose Texas .

Not trying to argue with you but Destin has a very strong arm. Look at his YPA and YPC numbers in HS. If you want to argue he’s raw and didn’t run much of a sophisticated passing scheme then I agree with you. In no way does Destin have a noodle arm at 6”5 210 pounds in this S@C program. Destins HS offense was him running all over the place and vertical throws down the field to take advantage of his strong arm.
