I got a good laugh reading that Destin Wade has transferred (again) to wait for it....North Alabama. His dad is a certified moron the way he bad mouthed UK and the way they handled playing Wade at QB. He should've never been the starter in the bowl game that Levis sat out as the kid was never gonna be a QB long term and wasn't even a good athlete. He also costed Keaton Wade a starting position at LB in the SEC as he is now sitting the bench at Colorado.

So congrats to Daddy Wade. You get my Daily Dumbass Dad award.

I was actually OK with Wade starting the bowl game, but when he started the second half I knew Stoops wasn’t serious about winning that game. I briefly considered making a spontaneous decision to drive down to Nashville that morning to attend that game and I’m glad I didn’t.

Finally I agree that Wade’s dad is an overbearing dude who actually did both his sons a disservice.

Keaton was never playing qb at a high level. To keep pushing him there was a disservice to him.

Keaton was screwed even worse. He could've been developed by White into an nfl potential guy. Instead be lost everything so his brother could chase a ridiculous dream.

Yeah….UK got the bad end of a delusional dad by losing Keaton

Keaton had four sacks in just a few games for Colorado. Weaver had five asked in the season for UK…..granted we’re playing a much tougher competition in Sec play than Colorado played

But what once was setting up as great Jack pipeline from Weaver to Wade /Fearby to Smith twin….has been entirely destroyed

This is why I just don’t get into recruiting class anymore….who knows what is going to stick

Isn't it odd that Keaton was sitting the bench at Colorado whose defense was subpar, imo? He showed a lot of potential while here so either he didn't along with the staff at CO or he didn't work very hard or something. No way should a starting SEC LB be sitting the bench at CO unless there is some circumstance that I don't know about. I believe he did miss some games early recovering from an injury but it wasn't as if he immediately was inserted into the starting lineup once healthy.

We always have big hopes and I guess expectations for our recruits. Parents will never, ever, EVER believe their kids just can't make a higher level...and I'm sure that's fed by other family and high school coaches
Competition level goes up real quick from high school to college, then P4 college, and few folks want to ever admit they just can't make it.

It also didn’t even make sense. He went to Colorado where a first round pick was the guy. I didn’t understand that

Weaver might of had a lot more sacks if we had a defense that tried to get after the QB on most plays. We do a lot of just forming a line and trying to stop them at the LOS. It doesn't lead to nice stats

Yep. And that's why we suck so badly at 3rd down conversions and a lack of takeaways. We don't expect the DL to beat their man and disrupt a play. We want them to absorb blockers and let the LBs make tackles. We rush 4 and drop 7 the majority of passing downs and, generally, 2 of the four are down linemen who have very little chance of getting to the QB. Our edge rushers have been pretty bad since Josh Allen graduated, Weaver included. We coach the CBs to keep everything in front of them, thus conceding the 5+ yard completions that keep the sticks moving. Plus, we rarely have a CB attempt to jump a route and get an interception. We will get one when a pass is overthrown or tipped, but very sporadically will you ever see a CB make a break on the ball to get an INT.

While our staff believes our defense is 'bend-don't-break', many of our fans, me included, believe it's more 'death by 1,000 cuts'.

We play chicken💩 schemes on both sides of the ball.

Bend don't break is fine until it keeps on breaking. Stoops kind of cut his teeth with that stuff at FSU, but you don't have as many grade A+ coordinators that film you out and get you pegged. My final teeth grinder was the Clemson bowl game when with the game right there for the taking we quit pressuring the QB and found a way to snatched defeat from victory. There were several excuses on that...but it was really a snapshot of everything that went wrong with our defense. Could be personnel, could be coaching, could be scheme...whatever. we normally start the season as a top 20 or better defensive team and by the time the conference is over we are near bottom.
