Is Noah a more talented Feldhaus or do I have the obvious bias of Kentucky mountain boy and nose-for-the-ball blue collar comparison? Noah is more deadly from three. Feldhaus was/is two inches taller and a three. Noah can play the two or three.

Giving Laettner a push (before the Dukie stomped on Aminu) plus being a double digit senior scorer on The Unforgettables, always endeared me to the Mason County product. A great sixth man and will always be "unforgettable".

I think he had a career in Japan. I just can't help but be reminded of him when I watch Noah.

Way too early to make that call.

Noah’s a better shooter, but Feldhaus the better rebounder and defender. That’s about all I can tell so far.

Noah is similar in size to Feldhaus with the same type motor but he's a much better shooter and is much more advanced in his skills and knowledge of the game as a freshman.
Agreed, except for the "basketball knowledge" part. Feldhaus came from a basketball family. His Dad played for Rupp, and was his high school coach. His older brother was a good player as well.

I just meant court awareness; that's the thing that impresses me most about Noah. He always knows where the ball is and when to help on defense or when to cut or spot up on offense. Of course all the same things applied to Feldhaus but I just don't think it all clicked for him as young as Noah.

The Senior Feldhaus vs a freshman Noah makes me realize how we have been caught in the necessity of comparing 18 year olds vs 22 year olds. For so long we have only been able to speculate. Not sure that will ever change but Feldhaus/Noah could be an opportunity.

Pitino really got the most out of all those guys: Pelphrey, Farmer and Feldhaus. Sean Woods too, obviously, but I think a little more was expected of him when he signed. The other guys were just end of the bench Kentucky guys, that Pitino made "unforgettable".

Maybe Pope can do the same with Noah, Perry and Chandler. But those guys are much higher rated recruits that Feldhaus, Pelphrey and Farmer would have been. Just speculating, Pelphrey might have been around top 100 recruit, Feldhaus maybe 150 and Farmer maybe 200 or even lower. I think Perry is a lot more talented than Farmer, even though those two had probably the best 2 high school careers in KY history.

Obviously Noah has not been a mainstay or featured guy, as Pope said. He didn't play in the first five SEC games, I don't think. Maybe his ceiling has yet to be revealed. I think that should and will come over the next two years. No matter, just love when The Unforgettables can be mentioned.

Noah and Perry will be tough if they stay and graduate. They will have had 3 years in the UK weight room to strengthen their legs and upper body. At that point they will be playing against guys 2-3 years younger than them, instead of 2-3 years older.

Deron redshirted his freshman year (Pelphrey did too) so his first year is not exactly apples to apples. He was able to spend a year in the weight room and practice against high level players before he made his debut so not exactly a fair comparison to make. Their redshirt freshman year was the 13-19 season, the worst ever until Cal's 9-16 season. Just from a stats perspective he may catch Feldhaus freshman numbers in year one but he would have to get about 9 points a game from here on out with including one SEC tournament and NCAA tournament game. He should surpass Pelphrey's first year with little problem, Pelphrey's scored 38 points total his freshman year but had much better career stats than Feldhaus.

Let a KY kid play a handful of minutes in their entire career and do a couple of good things, and some people will start comparing them to Michael Jordan.

If Noah wasn't from KY, people either wouldn't even be mentioning him or would be wondering why Pope has such odd lineups when Noah was in the game.

I think I'll start a thread: Noah or Larry Bird, who is better?

Cmon dude, he got compared to Deron Feldhaus. That’s much better than being compared to that loser Michael Jordan 😝
