He just got an offer from Florida last week and I want him to stay in the state. I may be a bit biased, but this kid will be a rising Junior after the summer circuit this year. He is the cousin (I believe) of Scotty Hopson and this kid is the real deal.

He averaged 23.6 PPG last season on 55% from the field and 40% from 3 as a Sophomore, after averaging 26.4 PPG as a freshman. He played with another D1 player this year, and that kid is graduating so he probably will be a 30+ ppg scorer the next two years. He is not just a high volume scorer either, he loves to get others involved.

He really will not get an evaluation from the recruiting sites until the end of the summer circuits because he is going into his junior year, but he has impressed everywhere he has played.

He got an offer from Oklahoma last summer and Florida last week, so he has the skill/talent to cut it at Kentucky and would not be just an in-state kid we give the benefit of the doubt. He also has offers from WKU and New Mexico State. I think he will blow up and I would love to see him in Blue and White.

Several nice national-caliber players in Kentucky in the 2019 class. Here's his tweet on the UF offer.

I don't know if they are related or not, but those Tandy's from Hoptown are some damn good athletes. One is a safety in the NFL (Tampa maybe?).

There also was Bubba Tandy from Christian County High that signed to play with UK, but then went to JuCo. Had 4 punt returns in 1 single game.

The crazy part is that I do not think they are all related, if they are it would be distant.

I'd like to see either Tandy or Johnson end up at Kentucky, although I think Johnson is too good to fill that reserve role here for 3 years.

There is about a million tandy's here in Hoptown. They all play sports.

In my day it was the Merrits, and Pinner families here in Hoptown. We all went to Hopkinsville Highschool. 90% of the Tandy's go to Christian county.

Artose Pinner was SEC Offensive player of the year for UK in 2002 and one of the Merrit's played football at Alabama. Curtis Pulley would've been electric at QB with Locke and Cobb had Brooks not released him from the team. Rickey Abren was a solid D-Linemen. Bubba Tandy, who signed with Joker, ran an unofficial 4.2 at a UK camp and ended up being a DII all american.

Deykeyvan Tandy goes to UHA, a school that has produced a lot of D1 talent over the years. Ravi Moss was our favorite player from there. Scotty Hopson and Ty Edmonson (signed with St. Johns and transferred and starred at Austin Peay). Remember Greg Buckner who went to Clemson and had a nice NBA career. Harold Swanagan that went to Notre Dame. Joshua Mack who was a top recruit in the state and ended up following Buzz Peterson from UT and signed at Coastal Carolina. The just a player from this past season sign with Wofford.

Quite a bit of talent from one place.

Hickey, Mr. Basketball from the Christian County 2011 state champs, they also had Donovan Kates who was a wing-guard for D1 Manhattan on that team. Corey Wilford from 2009 was a starting guard for SEMO played with them a year or so. They had a class of 2016 guard, Tyrik Edwards, come into his own and will start point guard next fall for Jacksonville State. The just had Jaylen Sebree, 2017 wing, sign with Coastal Carolina that had offers from Indiana and Xavier.

Keith Tandy was the star of Christian County High School. Class of 2007, he was a star in football, baseball(won a state title), and basketball. He hit a home-run off that old Pepsi sign at Applebees Part during the state tournament. He currently starts safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

That's just 1 school in the last 10 years.

Hopkinsville High had Easton McGee, 2016 pitcher, sign with UK only to be drafted in the 3rd round by the Rays, only 6 years after Justin Hagman was drafted and then chose to play at WKU for 3 years instead.

I was a wrestler from West Ky, and even tho they were before my time, the Merritt's names pop up everywhere. They must've been animals.

Sergio Lyuk at St. John's, some big guy whose face I can picture but can't remember his name at Temple, Isiah Victor(saw him about a year ago getting gas in a mid-90's Buick with the paint flaking off) at UT.

Victor has become a top car salesman in the area, I bet that car was a used one from the lot.

I saw him driving it around for a few years. Probably just saving money. It runs, it's paid for. Can take a nice ride off the lot for a night if need be.
