DUI, possession of marijuana and careless driving. Blew under the limit (.074) but because he’s under 21 it’s a regular DUI. Heard on WLAP morning sports show.

Hate to hear any kid get hurt by a low quality decision. When you are young, it is so easy to miscalculate risk and do something stupid. This will probably hurt his football career, but he could have been injured, killed, or killed other people. An opportunity to learn from a mistake and become more mature. Hope the young man sees the big picture.

These kind of things can obviously happen at any point in the year, but summer is a problematic time in the sense that these young men have less structure and supervision than other times of the year.

Still, these young men have to make good decisions. Sorry for Deke but I’m sure Stoops will hold him accountable.

He will be punished and should be. But I hope he is not dismissed from the team due to the knee jerk cancel virtue signaling culture that has become so pervasive. The young man needs guidance, as all young men do. He’s not out there beating women or pulling guns in bars. I’ve never had a DUI but between booze and weed, I probably could have had one on DOZENS of occasions when I was at UK. Only by the grace of God that I didn’t, and I’m sure many on this board can say the same thing.

Lighten up Francis. He got caught doing what just about 75% of all college kids do on a Saturday night. He’s under the limit, the weed is minimal. Might miss a game. No need to make it a political event. Geez this is the world we’ve morphed into, where everything has to trace back to some political bullshit.

No excuse anywhere but absolutely zero when you live in an area with Ubers and lyfts. Just abysmal.

No info but I wouldn't be surprised to see him exit. Not because he will be kicked off the team, but because any setback at all in that room probably means the other talented guys pass him up. Jmo

There is a report on Twitter that these charges have been dropped from the officers report.

Based on what I've seen for 10 yrs there is little risk Stoops will kick him off the team. Internal punishment.

As he should be treated. We are competing against schools like Georgia and their Fast & Furious culture, where zero games in suspensions will be given out. No room in this sport for zero tolerance treatment of young men who make bad judgments.

I don’t know about y’all but I don’t want 18-year-olds out there driving around being able to legally drink. I had to wait, so can they. BTW, shouldn’t even be a game suspension. I’m disappointed it wasn’t coke instead of marijuana. Why waste your time smoking doobies, young blood? Go hard or go home.

Looking at the myriad of responses always makes me laugh. For one if this were any other school this board would be trashing the school and the player and if it was a rival like da vile— watch out lol— you’d all be demanding major suspensions or worse. It’s also funny when people automatically bring up politics when literally nothing political has been said, or when we try to make excuses for those we like and then trash everyone else when they do it. I digress- I don’t think it’s the end of the world for Crowdus, I don’t think he’s loses his spot on the team, nor should he but he should serve a stiff suspension. He’s a minor booked for DUI and drug possession, that’s serious no matter how you rationalize it. Who knows it might teach him a lesson, make him a better person and save his or someone else’s life some day. My college DUI sure changed my perspective

No follow-up inane comment from you? Probably not, you've been ridiculed enough.

Hey douchenozzle, he’s 20 years old. So it doesn’t matter that he’s under the limit. It’s a full fledged DUI.

And my post literally said that all college kids do it, including myself. Can you read??
Damn they let 9 year olds post on here?

That was the argument back in the day. My state had an 18 limit in the 70's and the draft was no longer a thing.

Calm down, y'all. Draft ended 50 years ago, in 1973.

Whether by draft or voluntary service, I still think it is strange (wrong) that legally you can be in the military putting your life on the line but can buy a drink legally...and I don't even drink.

I feel the same way about people pushing to change the legal age to purchase a firearm to 21, and I don't have firearms in my home.

Just seems a bit contradictory to say that there can be huge responsibility given (dying for your country) while at the same time saying you aren't responsible (cannot drink, cannot own a gun).

Specifically for Crowdus, he should be punished, but I hope that it can be done in a manner that allows for the coaches to mentor him through it.

United States federal law also continues to provide for the compulsory conscription of men between the ages of 17 and 44 who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, U.S. citizens, and certain women for militia service pursuant to Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution and 10 U.S. Code § 246.

There has been a draft. There could be a draft. There is no draft (since Viet Nam).

Saw that yesterday.

Why can't we go through an off-season without some kind of issue where we either lose a player due to a "violation of team rules" or something like this? Seems like every year we have something

What sense does that make? Ale8 is made locally. Fk coke

Don't see this affecting his status on the team. He'll be punished for sure.

Vito had already been dismissed. Maybe we are good for the rest of the year

In 1986 Selective Service was cancelled. There is no draft cards/Selevtive Service cards, or what ever you want to call them. Young men don't have to get a military physical, like in the past. When I served, 1966-1970, many cowards ran across the border to Canada. I didn't agree with the war, had to leave college, but many have died so we can enjoy the freedoms we enjoy. There have been several attempts to reinstate the draft but have been voted down. Our nation is a nation of laws, whether we agree or not, and most have been for our well being and safety. Unfortunately many young folks have socialist ideas but have no idea what that leads to. JMHO.

I don't know if I would call running away from a draft for an illegal and unjust war like Vietnam ''cowardly''. America lost that war. Vietnam wasn't taking away from our freedoms to begin with.

Idk if it was done away with. I had to sign up and was given a card. My boys have had to do the same. My 19 year old got a letter saying he could face charges if he didn't do it. IDK
