I say deceptive because it was "just" unranked Alabama, and with the game never really in doubt it might seem like Kentucky just cruised to a W over another mediocre opponent.

But I thought Kentucky played as well as they have in any game at least since UCLA, and that this was one of 3-4 best performances of the year.

The Cats came out very crisp on offense. They worked hard to get quality shots on an athletic, aggressive Alabama team.

When Alabama had a bit of a run to start the second half, and the crowd and the Bama players were into the game, the Cats responded.

That run after Alabama cut the lead to 9, to push it up to 23, was as good a stretch as Kentucky has played all year, with Dakari making two big plays, and then the offense just burying the Tide.

Dakari played very well and is becoming an offensive factor.
The Harrisons both were patient, made excellent passes and played well on defense.
Booker is starting to convince me he is better than Lamb and a scorer rare in recent Kentucky history.
If Ulis is going to shoot like that, UK WILL be unbeatable.
Lyles is really turning up his offense.
And WIllie was just devastating on the defensive end.

It is amazing this is the same team we saw one week ago at Texas A&M.

Yeah, that was great start.

I think they made some tough TOUGH shots to get some points.

We were surgical on offense at times. Looked really nice.

Yeah, that's a great way to put it, WM. If we continue to put together offensive sets like today, we're going to go unbeaten. We all know we're great, a very very special defensive team, but if we get the offense clicking ... Good Lord !

the great thing is, we are capable of that, more than capable, that is, to become a great offensive team as well.

Consistently great, surgical offense paired with suffocating defense, and this could be the greatest team of all time.

Seriously.

watching UK for almost 40 years, yeah, I can see where I could say this team is the best, but not until it's all said and done, and we've grown and become the great team that we can be. We're certainly not there yet, but I can feel this team inching its' way there with every game.

GBB !

^^^^^^^^. Dead on. I am 60 and it is the best defensive team I have seen at UK add in the offense like today....a thing of beauty.

Yeah pretty much echoes my thoughts. We all know if they hustle, rebound and play D, they will be a very tough out. And yet the way it was done with all the contributions, this might be the best win of the year. Inspiring!

Or maybe they just smell blood when one of their brothers comes up lame.

It reminded me of the 2012 team a lot tonight. Bama made that run and UK just turned around stepped on their throat and upped it to 15 in a blink of an eye.

I agree with your post OP.

UK just made a really good team look pathetic on their home floor. Don't get me wrong, this Alabama team clearly has deficiencies, but they aren't nearly as bad as UK made them look.

The second half, they came out with fire. They were all "jacked up"," like spider monkeys drinkin Mtn dew." Everyone knew "they would shoot their wad early"and never "make it down the stretch"
Uk does this every night and this team will be talked about for years

Completely agree, Md. This was a pretty decent Alabama team...12-4 coming in with their only losses being "explainable", if you will.

This may have been the most well-executed performance, from start to finish, on both sides of the ball, as they've had all year.
