Please don't have another poor showing like we did against Mizzou. Re watching the game and seeing so many empty seats for a top 25 team was embarrassing. Stoops needs to change the game yes. We as fans need to change the culture of gameday. We brought it against UF, we have a D worth bringing it for on every dow. We as fans need to stay on board, the energy in that stadium was poor and we can do better BBN.

Hopefully we have a good crowd Saturday and absolutely bring it when we play Auburn. We have a chance for this to be a big year, let's do our parts!

Didn't you see the empty seats at the game? I believe that EKU fans will cause a sale out Saturday.... I don't think we'll have any trouble selling out the Auburn, UT, and UL game.... We should be bowl eligible by then.... If that happens the Charlotte game could be sold out too.... That would make every game a sell out, except Missouri.... I don't understand not selling out for the Missouri game either.... As we win games, this thing is going to grow....

As others have said, it is happening at a lot of places. Places that football is the main priority. Stop complaining about the fans. It is just the way things are now. They are pricing a lot of people out of going to games.
I remember going to see Couch and Yeast play for I believe under $50 for 2 tickets. Now they want more than double that. Throw in the cost of gas, parking, and concessions and you likely will spend $200 or more. Add another $100+ if you bring a couple kids. So for the price of 2 games you can buy a 55" tv and watch the games in the comfort of your own home.

I used to try and go to at least 1 game a year, but finances and health issues have prevented that. So I just enjoy the game in my recliner with the bathroom and kitchen a few seconds away.

I'm not sure if you're serious or if you're just a troll with 122 posts. The atmosphere was amazing and along with the Florida and the USC game last year was one of the best experiences in Commonwealth since the 2007 season. To call it poor means there was absolutely no way you were there and you're calling out people when you were sitting on the couch. The corners upstairs were the only spots that weren't packed. I haven't seen official numbers but I would've guess the attendance to be around 55k which would've been a sellout at UL. The fans that were there were on their feet and yelling the whole time. You need to turn up your TV or your hearing aid and rewatch the game again because it sounded awesome in my surround sound when I got home and rewatched it. You weren't there and you missed a great atmosphere of you're even a UK fan

I'm just two tickets but I can't justify spending all that money and a 3 1/2 hour drive each way anymore now that I'm married with children.

I do miss going though...

There's a lot of fans that get tickets for only one, two games a year.... A lot of them don't live close, but I still think this team could blow up before the year is over and sell out almost every one of our games left....

I agree that seeing the empty corners was disappointing but to say the atmosphere wasn't good is a terrible take. The atmosphere seemed amazing. Could barely hear the announcers foe 10 minutes after the horrendous blatant cheating of the refs after that pick 6 was nullified.

Great job fans who attended.

Also would like to point out the great fans sitting behind us in 27m at the Florida gamr. In the past, we have had UK fans complain about us standing up (and we stand on big plays, not the whole game ) but before the game started they said " if you need to stand to cheer , you do it, we will be fine don't worry about blocking us"

Trolling

Cameras don't linger on upper corners of upper decks. Secn showed an enthusiast passionate crowd for 3 1/2 hrs

There were chunks of crowd missing at the UT/Fla game sat. I was at the Mizzou game Sat. night and the crowd that was there was loud. We will not sell out EKU but I expect a crowd close to what we had for Mizzou.

I was there and the crowd was loud and enthusiastic. Many times during the game the crowd was standing and cheering on every defensive down, not just third down. They loudly booed the bogus pass interference call for about five minutes straight. My wife commented after the game that she could feel the booing vibrate thru her entire body. I think she kinda liked it.

The upper corner sections suck and I don't blame anyone for not paying to sit there. When I have the opportunity to go it is with lower bowl tickets and a great view of the field.

Only time I have ever sat upper corner was last years South Carolina game and as exciting as that game was would not do it again.

I really don't get the complaining about the seats that were empty. If you watched the Tennessee Florida game there were actually a decent amount of empty seats. How about they lower prices on everything if they want a sellout crowd every week.

I haven't missed a game since 2005...your serve

Jeez worry about something that matters. There are lots of empty seats in every stadium these days. That's why UK could take seats away. Welcome to the hi-def wide screen television age.
I don't give a crap how many are there as long as they are loud. The difference in 58,000 and a sellout is nothing as long as we are loud.
It was a good crowd Sat. night. It will be the same or even a little less for EKU because of the opponent. Thurs. night against Auburn should be another sellout.

If you were there then you wouldn't complain about the crowd. It was a great atmosphere and for anyone to say different they couldn't have been there. Would've been nice to sell it out but I think fans were a little deflated after losing to Florida. We haven't sold out a game in years and we've already had 2 sellouts. I'm sure that Auburn, Tennessee, and Florida will be capacity too. Going from no sellouts in 5 years to 5 out of 8 games selling out is pretty damn good if you ask me

There was a moron in my section yelling at people for leaving with about 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter after we went up two scores. Fans like that are embarrassing. People have lives, want to beat traffic, or stay home and watch it. There were a ton of people around Commonwealth that didn't go in and just stayed out and tailgated.

As another mentioned, there was a good chunk of empty seats at the UF UT game. That used to NEVER happen in the Swamp. Times are changing and is a big reason why I thought then and continue to feel now that UK may have been ahead of the curve in regards to taking seats out. UofL is allowing their ego to get in the way of good financial decisions by adding more seats they do not need.

Regardless of the empty seats, those who came did their job. The students were loud, the crowd was standing and screaming and cheering (and booing) 90% of the game. UK will have empty seats. Bama has empty seats and another poster mentioned Florida having empty seats. It was still what 80-85% capacity. It was a good crowd who helped this team to victory. I've had complaints about the fanbase before, but not this year. The crowd at CWS has been fantastic all year!

Good point about the student section. I've got to say that moving them there, with the recruiting room and coming out of that tunnel was very smart by Stoops.

Actually 92% capacity (58,000 out of 63K capacity), and the crowd was really into it. By the way, weather was sketchy all day, looked like it was going to pour all day, but did not during the game, thankfully. Really bad take by OP.

Easy fix if the administration would discount the corners of the stadium. Instead of 50 bucks a pop make those $10-25 whatever game it is. They aren't the n at seats in the world and shouldn't be the same price as middle upper nose bleeds where you still have a decent view of the entire field. Jmo. But the crowd was still alive and great.

You guys do realize Florida has a 90,000 seat stadium, right? The point is you guys bitched about the stadium being decreased but have every excuse in the book why fans shouldn't go including rain when it didn't even rain and the classic Jimmy and Joe are doing it too.

Lot of places are dealing with empty seats. Not just us. Even Kentucky basketball has empty seats at Rupp, especially early in the season and on semester breaks. Thanks to HD-TV and the endless # of sporting events on TV, the at-home experience is a pretty good alternative.

That being said, you are absolutely 100% wrong about the "energy in that stadium was poor". I am as critical of our football fanbase when it comes to knowing when to stand, cheer, yell, etc......the 58K there were very good Saturday night. The gameday atmosphere, starting with the early tailgaters, the Cat-Walk, UKMB parade, the pre-game inside the stadium, and the music/timeouts have been outstanding for the most part.

The top rows of both corners of the away side are seating for the visitors under the new seating arrangement. So people are mostly complaining about Missouri not traveling well.

Forgot to mention this in my post, but this is a good point as well. Missouri might have had 2-3K there, and a lot of them didnt get tickets through Mizzou, they went to the secondary market, as they were scattered. Not only do the visitors have the top corners, but they also have the top 3-4 rows of the visiting side, and they were empty.

Same here. I was willing to go to the UF game, but living in Indianapolis, going to a UK game would take up the entire weekend with drive time. To be honest, as much as I watch CFB, I could name you maybe three players on Missouri's team. If I lived in Lexington it'd be different, but, I don't.

I thought I saw that capacity was now 61K and change.....which would make it even fuller percentage-wise. As long as empty seats are in the corners, I am OK with it. There was definitely a smaller group of Mizzou fans (I think they knew they were going to lose) than usual for a SEC game. Had we beaten Fla, it would have been another sell-out but I think we are setting the stage for many future sellouts with the way we are improving.

If you want to worry about math or actual numbers I say from the less dense corner end zones there were 3K unsold tickets + 3K in those who had tickets but sat on them & did not attend.

As I speculated elsewhere might be a combination of being down from the Fl loss + Mizzou not being a 'sexy' SEC bigtime opponent name (yet). Be interested to see if Mizzou on the road in the SEC their 3 years typically plays in front of a less than capacity audience.

From one Marine to the other, SIMPER Fi! I understand your delima, I live in New Mexico. The only games I've been able to get to are those at Texas A&M. As silly as it sounds, I believe buy tickets to games, just to have the tickets.

Take care Jarhead.....be safe!
