Our big time recruit will have a game on ESPN2 on friday the 18th for those who haven't seen him play like me. It is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM. I know I can't wait to see this kid play. By the way, the team they are playing is Foothills Christian of California which has the Leaf kid.

Love this kid's game.

You guys have a great one coming in. I think Cal gets Bolden in the spring if Skal leaves. I'm not 100% sold that Skal will make the jump.

He's gone for sure. Anyone holding out hope of Skal returning is delusional, as the NBA selects on potential.

All too true, but based on this kid's demeanor, it wouldn't shock me if he tells Cal he wants another year. Now do I expect him to come back? Nope. But I could see a small window of a scenario where he says he needs/wants another season. That said, there's a long season ahead, and I expect this kid to start performing at a higher level.

Cal's always said if a player makes a strong case for returning...he would welcome him back, but like you, I expect him to improve exponentially in the coming weeks.

Don't see Skal coming back, his handler is still trying to ca$h in.

Where would Skal play on next year's team? He might as well take his chances with the NBA.
With Bam, Jones, Gabriel, possibly Lee, Humphries, Wynard,.......all at least 6'10, plus Willis, I don't think he would get many minutes.

Skal is gone. Why you would question that, i don't know. It seems every year we have a few that build up this false hope of a kid returning when in reality there is 0% chance of that said kid returning. Skal is not playing the way many have hoped for, but the NBA drafts on potential and doesn't care what people on the internet say and think about a kid's game. Skal has the talent and the NBA will try their hand with this kid's talent.

You are basing this off is the premise that his stock stays high. If he continues to play the way he's playing, I don't believe his stick will stay there. I keep seeing people say the same thing over and over. You're basing this opinion off of past UK players. We've never seen a player like Skal play this bad and go that high. Can anyone name one?

Skal will be fine, the kid is adjusting to a new world of basketball, he has to bring every game now. He really didn't get to play any competition at all last year.

Finally, someone that knows what they're talking about.
I've never seen a kid jump to the NBA after underperforming all season. I don't know how some of these guys think an NBA team would take a kid after watching him play scared and timid all season in college.
Now, Skal will most likely come out of his shell though, I can't imagine he will play this poorly all year but if he doesn't improve I don't see how he goes to the NBA.

You clearly aren't an NBA scout.
If skal didn't play another game he would still not drop out of top 10.
And no one in their right mind would stay another year.
Your welcome.

I don't agree that he should have gone after 1 year but Daniel Orton says hello

I actually thought about that comparison but then discounted it because his case was somewhat different. He had limited minutes, sitting behind Demarcus Cousins most of the year. The time he was in he did quite well on the defensive end. He didn't "underwhelm" so to speak during his season here. Whereas, Skal has been given every opportunity. There's no one ahead of him on the depth chart. He just hasn't performed at all. Now, I am no NBA Scout and I have no idea where he will be drafted if he continues to perform like this. But if he keeps putting up goose eggs, I would not be surprised if he dropped out of the lottery.

Now I do think he'll get a lot better. I doubt he will be the impact superstar we thought he would be, this year anyway. However I do firmly believe he will improve by years end and stay in the top 10 of the draft.

And you just completely changed what he said. Try to argue the topic and not move the goal post. If he stopped playing now, sure. If he plays like he did last game all year? No. He wouldn't go that high.

Oh, you're welcome.
