Umm… when did Sutton ever win a title?Eddie Sutton

10m a year might make him think otherwiseDan Hurley will not be the next coach at Kentucky, nor will he ever be the next coach. He isn’t leaving UConn, we as a forum need to move on from this pipe dream.
And producing 2x the results.Unless I found the wrong info, Hurley currently makes half of what Calipari is making.
Eddie Sutton
Huh? Sutton NEVER won a title anywhere.Interesting that Sutton is the only coach to win a title in his prime and then move on to another school. He was a disaster here.
Did Dan Hurley tell you this himself? Are you and Dan Hurley personal friends? How else would you know this?Dan Hurley will not be the next coach at Kentucky, nor will he ever be the next coach. He isn’t leaving UConn, we as a forum need to move on from this pipe dream.
Money doesn't guarantee happiness, perhaps DH is satisfied making ONLY 5 million a year, and satisfied within his current environment. Cal doesn't appear happy, and perhaps here for the money. He just signed a 6 year deal for 33 million a little over 5 million a season. If KY were to offer 10 million a season he would be stupid not to take it. UCONN can’t match that and Kentucky is a sleeping giant just waiting to come out of hibernation.
It’s called using logic and reason. UConn is a top program in college ball now, and he may win back-back titles there. Why on earth would he leave that. And another thing is, UConn would match any offer or come extremely closeDid Dan Hurley tell you this himself? Are you and Dan Hurley personal friends? How else would you know this?
The facts are that UK could double Hurley's salary. The UK basketball job despite the damage that Calipari has done is still one of the 5/6/7/8 most prestigious coaching jobs in all of sports.
Yes, I did...he was HIGHLY successful at Arkansas and said he would crawl to Lexington for the job. His '78 team was probably the best team not UK. Met the man on multiple occasions. His bout with alcohol cost him from being a great coach at UK and winning another championship.Umm… when did Sutton ever win a title?

Imagine UCONN would try to match/beat anything UK would offerHurley would walk to Lexington to coach UK. Huge difference from 5 and 10 million per year
Well, then you didn’t read it well. The criteria was coaches who’d won a national title. That was the whole subject of that conversation.Yes, I did...he was HIGHLY successful at Arkansas and said he would crawl to Lexington for the job. His '78 team was probably the best team not UK. 6 years 30 millionHas anyone who says Hurley won't leave UCONN actually done any research on the guy? If not then you are just guessing like everyone else. And Hurley is not a lateral move to Cal. That is just nonsense.
He comes from a family of coaches who are considered Basketball Royalty. He competes with his brothers for prestige, and against the ghost of his father who was the best high school coach in history. He is chasing a legacy and UK can provide that. UCONN cannot.
Would he for sure come here. No, but you have to take that shot. His job at UCONN isn't the pressure free gig everyone thinks. UCONN is broke. If the basketball programs don't perform well the state cuts the school's funding. It is a tenuous situation.
On the downside he did just ink a contact with UCONN.
He's in HOF like Cal and Cal hadn't won one either before UK. Coached in three FF.Well, then you clearly didn’t read it well. The criteria was coaches who’d won a national title. That was the whole subject of that conversation.
Sutton obviously doesn’t qualify. He never won a title. The best he did before coming to UK was only one final four appearance.
Proven by the fact that 5 different HCs have won a NC at UK.I know Hurley is a famous name, but Im telling yall just a fresh face who does not have any baggage would probably do wonders. The coach does not have to have accolades to make an impact at our school.
You don't think UConn would match or almost match that? They're all in on basketball at this point, it's not like they have to find money for a good football program.10m a year might make him think otherwise
He makes like 5.5m doubtful they'd matchYou don't think UConn would match or almost match that? They're all in on basketball at this point, it's not like they have to find money for a good football program.
And I've said this countless times here and will keep saying it. Money isn't everything to a lot of these coaches. Few has said one of the reasons he's stayed at Gonzaga is the fly fishing in Spokane. Sometimes you don't mess with happiness. Hurley's got his entire career made for him right now to be honest. Starting over for a million or two more a year would be more trouble than it's worth.
It sure doesn’t but most everyone tries to make the most money possible. KY can offer what UCONN can notMoney doesn't guarantee happiness, perhaps DH is satisfied making ONLY 5 million a year, and satisfied within his current environment. Cal doesn't appear happy, and perhaps here for the money.
I'm sure Ollie probably felt the same way. UConn will run him out over a bad year. He doesn't have to worry about that here. You don't think UConn would match or almost match that? They're all in on basketball at this point, it's not like they have to find money for a good football program.

This is a view of a timeless world. He won’t just have won a championship and be looking good to win another one every single year. What else do you have? You’ll need a very strong argument to convince anyone this is an actual impossibility. Everyone already knows it’s just a remote chance.Boyd, I have been on here constantly saying I am ready to move on from cal. I am just realistic about who Kentucky can get. Why in the world would Dan Hurley leave a place he just won a title at and may win an other one this year. Some of you all just don’t have realistic expectations for who Kentucky can get
And you need to move on thinking your opinion is fact. You can't prove or disprove if Dan Hurley will be UK's next head coach or not.Dan Hurley will not be the next coach at Kentucky, nor will he ever be the next coach. He isn’t leaving UConn, we as a forum need to move on from this pipe dream.
Yall main argument for why he would come here is because it’s Kentucky, that isn’t the same thing it used to be. He is not leaving UConn anytime soonAnd you need to move on thinking your opinion is fact. You can't prove or disprove if Dan Hurley will be UK's next head coach or not.
Why would he leave UConn anytime soon? What your main argument for why. “It’s kentucky” isn’t a argument, that’s hoping somebody will believe in the past and come hereThis is a view of a timeless world. Double the salary to start. Kentucky is still Kentucky moving the College basketball needle as much or more then any team not named PukeWhy would he leave UConn anytime soon? Most everyone does, I agree. It sure doesn’t but most everyone tries to make the most money possible. KY can offer what UCONN can not
Just can’t see him leaving UConn anytime soon. Maybe, but I don’t see it happeningDouble the salary to start. Kentucky is still Kentucky moving the College basketball needle as much or more then any team not named Puke
If he wins another title this season things get dicey for KY trying to pry him away. He doesn’t I like their chances if we can rid ourselves of CALJust can’t see him leaving UConn anytime soon. Maybe, but I don’t see it happening
I just personally think it will be Scott drew, that’s who Mitch likesIf he wins another title this season things get dicey for KY trying to pry him away. He doesn’t I like their chances if we can rid ourselves of CAL
