Dallas Dickerson commits to Kentucky

That's too much. It's 4.42, which is still excellent.

Kid has elite speed, but i dont think it's 4.2, but i believe he is a 4.3 type kid. During track season he had multiple sub 10.5 100m with a PR ofc10.3. But those are hand timed by coaches so who knows the accuracy. But he is a heck of a prospect, with elite speed. A good start and a nice get for you guys.

Washington is already proving to be a much better recruiter than what I had envisioned. Dickerson's comments about him very eye opening to me anyway.
Stoops' track record with WR coaches has been abysmal so far. It seems like Washington is a keeper on the recruiting trail. Once the season starts, we'll be able to see if he can coach at all.

This isn't Washington's first season as a WR coach by any means. He previously coached WRs at other programs including OK and is a proven coach. It isn't an accident or coincidence that prospects like Dallas Dickerson are saying the things they are saying now. You would know this if you checked facts before commenting.

So this is for you.

The main reasons Washington is here because he was available as a late hire and came cheap. He might turn into a good coach, but I don't expect him to be here longer than 1 season. I expect a poor season, and Stoops retires.

Why would he walk away from his buyout by retiring?
Happiness. Money isn’t everything and you can’t buy it. He will be well and highly compensated to retire. The main sticking point is not as much the money but the clause requiring him to be paid in full in 30 days. Of course UK can’t do that.

What do you mean by the clause of being paid in 30 days? If they buy him out? I assume if he retires he wouldn’t be owed anything

Nothing he said was inaccurate.

Washington was an assistant WR coach at Oklahoma who got the interim main role after the resignation of the coach in front of him. OK didn't keep him around after his interim season. That's a fact.

He's still very young for the job, so "proven" is TBD. What is the threshold for "proven"? You could say that Lamar Thomas was "more proven" when he was hired.

The recruiting so far has been positive. We'll take it for now.

Wow, you again. You disappear during the train wreck of a season and then run your mouth during the offseason. Your like this board's version of Vince Marrow.

I never said this was Washington's first year as a WR coach. We'll see if he can coach AT UK. Stoops has hired more than a handful of previously successful WR coaches and most have been flops. Tommy Brown, Tommy Mainord, Lamar Thomas, Michael Smith, Bouknight, Woodward, Shorts. Not good at all.

Hopefully Washington is the answer for that room. So far, I'm optimistic. He has been a step up in recruiting anyway.

Would you walk away from 37m?

And be stuck losing game after game in an empty stadium? No hope of getting better? Being booed? Getting calls from better schools to be a coordinator? Or offers to be on TV? Move closer to your family? Throw in you already have a 100 million.

I might look for a middle option. Give me 21 million and I'll leave at end of the season for another opportunity and everyone is a little happier.

Well spoken and life accomplished. Glad he’s with us. Knows the score and more. Pro experience. I’m sure he’s a very sincere and focused young father.

Washington is a motivational speaker. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a psychology degree in 4 years, despite having lost both of his parents at an early age. His father was murdered when he was only 6, and his mother had a stroke and died after one of his high school basketball games when he was only 15.

Washington is one of four brothers (La'Courtney, Tobias, Tomarious), once their mom had passed they had all decided to remain together as one taking care of each other, with La'Courtney becoming their legal guardian. L'Damian's best friend was murdered when he was only 15.

You really do live in a bubble. I "disappeared" because I almost died after aortic surgery, you bilious lout. If someone is too sick to post football comments, you think they disappeared because it was a disappointing season. That's a new low, even for you.

Bilious lout. That’s cute. But I’m not the one constantly bickering, arguing and name calling others who disagree with your opinion of our program.

If this season is the train wreck it’s supposed to be, it’ll be interesting to see if you’re still on here defending Stoops. If this turns out to be a good season, then we all win. Go Cats!

He could be the next Derek Abney. Or Dicky Lyons. Or Charles Walker or Aaron Boone. Or.....wll, those are the only choices.

However good he is, we know he's destined to be a future KSR Football Podcast regular.
You left our Lance Mickelsona and Rick Massie :p Both really good especially Massie

Think you misread this one. He was referring to STOOPS track record with coaches not Washington's track record.

I believe a contract is a contract. Sure I could listen to the fans boo, I am sure he wants to win and not interested in a 7-8m a year pay cut. Lose enough and get paid in Dec if he is ready to move on.

UK was afraid one of the Big Boys would be coming after him and wanted this contract after the 10 win season. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to keep the momentum going. Now fans blame Mitch for the contract and looking for ways not to pay Stoops. That's hardly fair to either of them

A contract is a contract until,,, a team of lawyers get involved then it isn't as simple as it would seem. Coaches contracts are negotiated down all the time and if UK wants Stoops out this one will be as well!
