It's about 9:40, standing in our living room looking at a huge lighting storm down towards Bowling Green, down Bert's way!!
Raining heavy here again today and my shop is flooded already with heavier rains expected around noon to late afternoon. Have some work to do in the near future figuring out a solution.Cool start to Derby Week but that's perfect for the Mini Marathon and Balloon Race today. Even though I don't take part in most of the festivities these days it's still my favorite time of the year. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, unlike Thunder Over Louisville which had to be cancelled this year due to flooding.
Sorry to hear Warrior. Hope there wasn't too much damage.Raining heavy here again today and my shop is flooded already with heavier rains expected around noon to late afternoon. Have some work to do in the near future figuring out a solution.
No, I have all things elevated that could be damaged. I worry more about long term structural (floor and ground underneath) damage. There is a spring under the ground in the easement area that also extends to my property. When there is a lot of rain it rises to the surface and flows. Moderate to light rain even if continuing for a day or two does not run into the shop. Short to long burst of heavy does though and that is what we had yesterday. More to come the coming week.Sorry to hear Warrior. Hope there wasn't too much damage.
The Cards fired last years hitting coach. He was a .240 hitter in COLLEGE and they made a MLB hitting coach out of him. They are hitting a little better with the new guy, but pitching is still spotty. Walker and Gorman have a ton of potential, but both have my problem. Their hips fly open and they swing and miss way to many low and away breaking balls. The new coach is working on it, but has not corrected it.Bat Cats take their first series at home today with an 11-6 win over the Gamecocks and the Reds sweep the Rockies to go up 2 games over .500 (15-13).
Cards to visit Reds starting tomorrow evening. Cards 2-11 on the road so let's hope their woes continue. Sorry Bernie but I need the Reds to take the Cards out, God knows we have struggled against the Cards for many years now.
Nothing appears on Google search. Request a source or link.I was hoping for some confirmation on the Toyota thing as I'm not sure if true, but poster doesnt usually make wild claims
Since the cognitive revolution took place in Homo Sapiens about 75,000 years ago those 100 men would have used their brains instead of their bare hands to take out the gorilla! We got smart and the gorilla's never developed the cognitive abilities that the mutation gave humans.Good morning folks. Sunny and cool in the east. Had to break out a layer of thermals for the morning run.
Hard at work. A busy day. Not much else happening.
I'll leave you with an internet poll my son says all his early-20 friends are debating: Could 100 men, with nothing but their barehands, kill a lowland gorilla. I say yes, if about 25 of them were willing to sacrifice their lives by rushing him in groups of five and getting ripped asunder. The beast would eventually wear down and I'd guess the survivors would be able to choke him out...
Have a good day folks.
Best wishes.Hello all,
To state the least, I have been busy. I am thankful but busy. Barely had time to sit and do anything but work.
I am thankful...
Found out it may be that Huntington's disease may run in my family. Found out my brother has it. MTF but in any event, I am thankful.... I was told at the VA I had to wait until December to be tested. I was at my appointment this past Thursday and the doctor there saw the notes of my ask and sent an email. In short they were able to use the blood test I took that day so we shall see... This seems to be a fatal disease with no cure. That's okay as it is stated that once symptoms are noticed it takes 10 to 30 years to die from it. No one I know of in my family has lived to 80 or even 75 so... I will die one day but I do not think it will be this thing that takes me.
My brother found out a couple weeks ago but has had some symptoms it seems for a year or two.
Kind of angering though, the doctor that saw my brother accused him of being drunk.
Keep in mind, my brother was a corporate jet pilot for 33 years and now at 73 is still instructing. He is very competent. (Broke his foot a few years ago and I attributed a lot of his gimp to that issue.
While he could have symptoms as I do not see him regularly at all being that he lives in Michigan and I live in Virginia, I do talk to him and Sis regularly.
Bugs me more as the VA doctor who told me I had to wait until December to be seen sent me a letter today telling me I needed to mail and or fax him some documents. I asked my primary care doctor if scanning and sending them securely is a more quick resolution.
Yeah, I may be degenerating but DARN, I do not like dealing with those who think think they have it going on. (Wasn't a form letter either, it was typed that way.)
Yeah one of the symptoms it seems is mood swings but I'd sure like to sit with him a while and see how dumb I really am.
Oh well, I am off my rant now.
Know one thing, God is still in control and I am thankful... 😍
Best wishes.
I think it is ineptness, but some on Cards talk forums think DeWitt (they call him dimwitt) wants to sell/move the Cards and he wants a low payroll to better facilitate it happening. Attendance is lower than it has been in many years. I guess this kind of parallels the way things went before St Louis lost their NFL team.Got the monster walked, and workout done, now it is time to clean house. Wooo! Hooo!. Anybody want to help? Listening to 70's Funk right now while getting ready to clean. Drowning out the sound of the rain.
Reds won again last night and are now 3 games above .500 (Sorry Bernie again).
Good morning folks.
BB, I hope all works out with your diagnosis. As I recall, Huntington’s can be ruled out with a genetic test, as was the case with Arlo Guthrie whose father Woody had it. I’ll hope that is what happens for you.
Heading into work early today. I’ll wish you all a happy Tuesday.
