D-League

HEY,

Brother ATXC, please tell me about that Rogue!!!!!!!

I was about to look at one of those for My Darling as it was one she had saw and wanted to see about. The thing that turned me off on it was the auto-E-Brake. My daughter has that on her Rav4 and her calipers went bad. Cost about 1900 extra to get those replaced. (A 2019 Rav 4)

I see you can turn the auto e-brake off but that is not a permanent thing.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The thing I am looking for is a quiet ride. We've owned mostly Toyota's in some for or fashion and they are super dependable and give good service though I drive a Mazda 3 I bought for my daughter before we went to Korea. The cars are so noisy. I remember riding in a Buick and the quietness of the ride. (Quiet isn't everything but I sure remembered it.) (My F-150 XLT Lariat was a quiet ride.) Was even thinking of one of those (Buick SUV) but any input helps. Thanks again!
2019 Rogue. 14K miles. We drive very it very little. So far, just minor tire issues, but otherwise great SUV. May get 4 new tires. Depends on what service advisor says. We've dealt with this dealership since 1998. Heard transmission problems plague newer Rogues. Ours is 2.5L 4 cyl. New Rogues are 1.5L Turbo, or so I've read. Also own 2013 Nissan Frontier. Just 32K miles. Plan on washing tomorrow. Both vehicles parked under carport, out of blazing sun.

Thanks! We'd very probably put more miles than that. The info helps!!!

Have not been paying attention so, What shooter? TIA
UPDATE - Warrior (and all) Kentucky just signed Croatian Andrija Jelavic -- a stretch 4 who couldn't be any more perfect for Pope's system. This is exciting. The Cats may still add another guard, but with this signing, I think Kentucky is a serious threat to make a deep run, with good health and team chemistry.

Good afternoon.

Wife and I had a nice morning turkey hunting. I called one in allllllllllmost into shooting range. I'm very picky. But, got to watch him strut and hear him gobble plenty. Down to the lake tomorrow.

@MdWIldcat55 Thanks. You broke the news to me. Now I have to go to RR and read all about it. lol

@BBUK We've had great luck with Nissans. Like Austin we have a Rouge (2nd one) and a Frontier (3rd one). Our fist Rogue (2012) is having issues now (sold it to a great nephew....against my wishes). He's put plenty of rough miles on it and is paying for it now.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Read one NBA evaluation rating him good as a rebounder and off the ball. Was called adequate on D, ball handling, in low post and off the dribble. Inconsistent was the knock. Projected him as second round NBA pick with a good career as a reserve.

The Ryan express, it was an honor watching him pitch. I saw at least one no hitter from start to finish... Just cannot express the awe-inspiring work he did in baseball....
I really liked Roger Maris. He won two MVP awards. His last two years were spent with the Cardinals. He was hurt and just a fraction of the player he used to be, but he was very fundamentally sound. He was going to retire, but Augie Busch set him up with a beer distributorship to sign with the Cardinals. He and other Cardinals used to come down to western Kentucky near where the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers meet to hunt.

Interesting story. Roger and Whitey Herzog were big buddies. The winter after Roger hit 61 homers, Whitey was building a new house. Building it himself, not hiring it done. Whitey said without him asking, Roger showed up early every morning with tools and a lunch box to help him build his house. Roger never took a penny for his work.

Garrison coming back!! "we have the tools, we have the talent". Pardon me for using a tired old saying but I'm cautiously optimistic. A lot of time between now and the first game in November. Hopefully another "boom" will happen soon. Any doubt that Pope is the right man for the job?

Good morning folks.

Still cloudy and cold in the east.

Big day for the Cats yesterday adding that Croatian stretch forward and getting Garrison to stay. Opinions vary on Garrison, but to me he’s a guy with the tools to make a Nick Richards type leap forward in year 3. He just needs to work his ass off to improve now that he has a year in Kentucky’s system.

One piece to add. Will that be Lamar Wilkerson today? That would really cap the weekend.

Have a good Sunday folks.

Just hope we have enough ball handlers. I am sure if not Pope will probably develop that in those who would be thrust into that position if the injury bug comes back.

I just saw that Tommy Helms passed away. He was a big part of the Reds' teams of my boyhood, through the early Big Red Machine days. He was indirectly part of that team reaching the heights of probably the greatest National League team in history -- he was part of the trade that brought Joe Morgan to Cincinnati.

My dad always had me studying infielders so I watched Helms pretty closely during my Knothole years. People don't remember him that much, but he was an All Star a couple times in the late 1960s when that National League was a talent monster.

I have his autograph on a couple old scorecards somewhere. He was good about signing, as I recall, Rest in peace.

Years ago when I was playing ball young I had a Tommy Helms bat and glove. Don't remember how I acquired it but I had them for a time. Loved the Dave Kingman 33 ounce bat though, loved the thin handle, as I aged that was my go to... Had a Joe Morgan fielders glove as well.

You may not have heard of him, but I had a Don Hoak glove, so of course he had to become a favorite. He played 3b for the Pirates when they beat the Yankees. He was a not particularly successful pro boxer before turning to baseball. He had a heart attack and died while chasing a thief that stole a neighbour's car.

Service yesterday only cost $79.95. Included tire rotation, point-to-point service, oil change. No need for new tires. Leaky tire patched.

Wife was dead-set on purchasing 4 new tires. Service advisor talked her out of it because current tires have just 14K miles. Great shape.

One thing I learned about Texas. Keep good tires on your car

It be hot in a lot of places. Many places you can fry eggs on the ground. In Texas you can fry steaks ..

Ye ole blacktop roads be........HOT!

Morning D-Leaguers!

61° this morning with a high in the mid 70's expected. Reached 93° yesterday during the softball games. We won both. 12-3 and 12-11.

Bat Cats lost by 1 to Texas but the Reds took another one from the Pirates to complete a sweep so, good day on the field yesterday overall.

@AustinTXCat, wife took today off and wants to go grocery shopping. Looks like a pecan pie is in my future. Prayers for your wife and God Bless.

The rest of you be careful out there during the Monday start of the work week and God Bless.

Good morning folks. A clear, cool morning in the east. A beautiful moon and stars in this hour before dawn,

Cats either missed on Wilkerson or dodged a bullet. I watched that interview where he talked about how he wanted to be “The Man” and didn’t think he was going to get that chance at Kentucky. The Man? He played for Sam Houston, a 6-12 C-USA team. The Cats needed another Brea, not a guy looking to be the focus.

Busy couple of work days before heading to Kentucky. You guys have a good one.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 69°F with a light wind from the south. Today's high expected around 85°F.

Happy Hump Day, y'all.

The incredible, edible....egg.....

Over easy, in deed edible....

Good morning all,

Sitting in my car readying to hit the train.

Had some sobering news late yesterday. I am thankful, MTF...

Have a Christ Blessed day!!!

48° this morning with a high in the mid 80's expected. Moderate to gusting winds will hinder my fishing but not stop it.

Reds beat Mariners 8-4 last night going above .500 for the first time since 1 May last year. Austin Hays played his first game for the Reds after coming off of the injured list and went 2-5 with a 3-run homer.

Bat Cats survived a close one last night winning 4-3 over Miami of Ohio. At home, 3-3 at the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, runners at the corners. A surprise bunt that is popped up down the 3rd base line caught them off guard. Miami third baseman ran in and dove for the ball. Had it in his glove until he hit the ground and it came out. UK runner scored from 3rd.

Watched both games flipping back and forth as they came on at the same time.

Hump day for most of you who are working.

Be safe and God Bless.

This popped up on my FB feed from years ago, and I thought it might interest a couple of you on Easter Week.

This is Easter Services being observed outside Saddam Hussein's biggest palace in his hometown of Tikrit, along the Tigris River, April 2003. You can see the priest. I think the other guy standing and facing the troops was a Protestant chaplain. It was a moving event in the Biblical land where the children of Israel had been taken away by Nebuchadnezzar in 600 BC or so...As I recall, this was a mix of Marines and 101 St. Airborne troops. Those with eagle eyes or capable of increasing the size of the pic can see the different camo patterns in the BDUs, some Army some USMC...The photog who took this and I had gotten up there tagging along with a 101st unit that was passing through before going on north to Mosul -- the ancient site of Ninevah, to continue the Biblical theme.
