Crazy Pattern

I was looking at the last few years of champions and a pattern stuck out. I'm a nerd and like numbers and those number patterns like 1, 3, 6, 10, 15....., if you see this pattern it will make more sense.

Last 7 titles:
UNC
Duke
UCONN
UK
UL
Uconn
Duke
????

Now UNC is the favorite this year in Vegas and as you can see the pattern is reversing. I say that because Big Brother and then Little Brother.....

I see the pattern you are mentioning but there is a one problem. A reversed pattern would have meant that UK or UL would have won back to back if they were the apex of the pattern.
