Crazy how little interest and enthusiasm exists for todays game

CAL sucking the life out of the program and fans one game at a time. Changes have to be made and soon.
The level of crybaby stupid, exhibited on this virtual cesspool is still astonishing! Get this thru your thick skulls. No AD is going to spend 35 million to fire a hall of fame coach, with his team in the top 25. Get use to it, or get gone.
We have one of the most explosive offenses in the country, and the bad defense is being worked on. If we become even a decent defensive team, a deep run is reasonable to expect.

Will stay away from watching again (live). Will wait till its over and then see if I want to watch the highlights. This is another game, where I expect we will be without some guys, Mitchell (probably) and then someone will have the flu, stomach issues, headache, phantom injury and will be out. Maybe it will be Edwards knee or Adou back but I feel like we will hear something in about an hour with player x and z are out today.

We are a community that does not get used to anything or get over anything. It is our very being to be able to complain, be unhappy about it and continue in every thread to put our unhappiness out there. I do this enough but some do it to almost every single post. I just put a ton of sarcasm on here and feel better getting the most ridiculous side of my thoughts out of my brain.

Or people have kids now. They have DVR. So they no longer have to stop loving their families in lieu of a college basketball game.

Not every change in human behavior is due to Cal being a bad coach (yes, I agree he's become a bad coach, but harping isn't going to speed up his departure).

I started changing my life when I had my first kid 10 years ago. I DVRd many games in the undefeated season because my kid was first and foremost. I would put her to bed then watch the saved game later. Regardless of our seasons, I cannot link Cal's craptastic performances to my interest in going family first over a basketball game. Guess I'm not "hardcore Kentucky" like others who blame Cal for now having to do stuff with their families (GASP!!!).
I haven't watched a Saturday day game live since we moved to Florida. The older you get the more you realize how valuable your time is. I even record most of the night games because instead of tying up 2+ hours of my time, I can zip through a college basketball game in 50 minutes or less.

I'll believe it when I see it. It was supposed to be rocking last weekend and it was dead. It was a four point game at half time and half the lower bowl wasn't back to their seats by the time the second half started.
Were you there? I get so tired of these types of posts. It was loud and we did our best to cheer on our CATS! I'll be in the lower bowl cheering my head off again today.

Just watch today the movement in offense from Gonzaga and compare it to ours. If we can’t beat their guys off the dribble we will lose. Few is a way better strategist than CCC. I hope we kill em but I have my doubts.

I catch most games live still, but my wife wanted to go see All-American Rejects at Universal tonight, so we are heading over there. Will probably end up at NBC catching the game, but have to see how it goes.

Yeah I was there. Two minutes into the second half and a lot of the lower bowl was still empty.

My issue with the crowd is they gave the team zero to feed off of. The crowd at Rupp is always too reactive. Tennessee hit their first 3 and the crowd got absolutely silent for a long time. When the team got it close the crowd got loud. But the crowd did not make it a difficult atmosphere for Tennessee to play in.

At Rupp it seems like the crowd feeds off the team, at other big arenas the team feeds off the crowd's atmosphere. At a place like Phog the opponent hitting their first shot doesn't shut up the crowd. It does at Rupp.

I watched the Arizona/Stanford game Sunday night. The entire crowd at Arizona was standing and constantly making noise and cheering regardless of what was happening on the court for basically the entire time I watched the game. That never happens at Rupp. Rupp cheers when the Cats make a big play, but it doesn't have any sort of sustained atmosphere.

I'm excited for today and will be at Rupp fir the game. It will be very loud in there today despite what some posters have said about Rupp. Not sure why you're not excited about a big game, OP, but I am. Cal isn't taking away my love for the Cats, I won't let him.

At the beginning of the year this game had “marquee” written all over it. Gonzaga coming to Rupp. Now both teams are pedestrian and most of this message board content is a lament against Cal and the state of the program. And even apathy towards today’s outcome as if expectations are low and skepticism is high. Will be interesting see what the environment is at Rupp later today and whether fans bring the noise and energy.
Revisionist post.

Pre-season AP Top 25:

UK #16
Gonzaga #11

Hardly a "marquee written all over it".

Um, so in this same logic, is the St. Mary's coach a better strategist than Few? How about Purdont's coach - better than Few? Washington's coach? UCONN's? San Diego State's coach? Or maybe Santa Clara's coach?

Because all of those coaches have beaten this master strategist Mark Few this year - most of those coaches' names I don't even know.

Let's see how we do today. I think we'll step up to the plate on defense and win this game by 12+ pts.

Oh the magic words...."if" and " expect"

You must be the type of guy who also doesn't like his Wife anymore because you hate her Dad huh? Think about it.....
Lol thats pretty good.

I think what he might be saying if his wife and her dad were in the same house together he would go on a long walk until dad left.

Cal has just wore me out, I will record game and figure out something to do this afternoon.

People act like Gonzaga is awful this year. They aren’t. They are ahead of UK in KenPom and without DJ and Mitchell I don’t think UK wins this game.

Gonzaga by 6

Only time Rupp Arena will have rocked for the rest of the year was when Lamb of God and the Pantera tribute were there on Wednesday.

Our Kenpom rating improved at Vandy with the same 2 guys out.

You might be right, of course, but any loss to Gonzaga would be a terrible result, with or without DJ and Mitchell.

My complaint is even if we win today my enthusiasm meter might flutter a little at best. Cal has really just killed the excitement

Not talking about anybody else vs Zags. Talking about us. Few is pretty good and might not be as good as some others but he is better than Cal. It showed last year.

Honestly, I don't care if I watch the game or not. If my wife wants to go somewhere I will go. I used to never feel that way and she knew better to even ask me to do something else. A combination of Cal, the NIL and the transfer portal has diminished my interest totally

Get it through your thick skull KY Basketball is broken and CAL can’t fix his own mess or chooses not too. Kentucky has to win games in spite of their coach not because of it. CAL isn’t making a deep run ever again

I'm excited. Not sure who you're talking about except maybe the media.

And even if we were still ranked in the top 10, this is not at all a hyped Zags team like they have been in the past. They aren't even ranked. They are pretty mediocre (not that they were juggernauts in the past, to me anyway). So I highly doubt there'd be much hoopla around this game anyway.
Oh great. Kiss of death. Now they're gonna hit seventeen threes on us. 🤣

Jeez bro. Take it down a notch. You come across like this guy.

I’m excited, I hope we beat the snot out of them. I haven’t given up on this team yet.

At this point they have to prove that THEY want it. I'm not putting anymore energy and time into this team until Cal wakes up. I'll obviously still watch but I'm going to expect losses against decent teams now.

I'm down on Cal but will never not watch the team unless I something going on. I'm excited for the game. Always am when we play no matter how the season is going.
