he has a history of being a head case...don't know that he and Kobe would get along...but if he could grow up and mature a little bit and play nice with Kobe for a year, it may be worth it...
but his talent and potential are almost second to none...still young and could anchor a franchise for the next 12 years...very close to his prime and breaking out whereas Okafor and Towns are probably a few years away...
Lakers need help everywhere though...they need talent, youth, and depth...specifically in the backcourt and around the perimeter...
They may need a Russell or Mudiay, a shooter, and a Rondo more than they need a Boogie...especially now that the game is going to the perimeter...
I love Cuz and am proud of his improvement, but if he's not a head case, then who is?
I think it could make sense to trade Cousins if Karl doesn't want him. The question is when will Cousins be a free agent? After this year or next? Sac will have to pony up bug then and that is if Cousins would even stay....not likely. At least they get something for him now and buy some time. Would love to see Cousins out there personally. Cousins is going to have to commit to training and running the floor though. No way they will accept that in LA or New York. My take I guess. I sure do love Cousins though! Maybe my favorite UK player all time.
Dennis Rodman, Isaiah Thomas (The old NBA player for the Pistons.), Allen Iverson, Latrell Sprewell, Tim McVeigh, Al Capone, Johnny Manziel, Coach Krishiski has had how many bad back issues and falling downs on the court and health issues to have losses erased, Booby Knight?? yadda, yadda, yadda....THOSE are head cases..but not Coach K really...) I tried to be diverse in my quick selections... each and EVERY one of them had off court issues or personal issues.
All I want anyone to do is name one thing Cuz has done to be called a headcase off the court??? All of the above have had on court and off court issues. Except: Cuz... Heck even our beloved Terrence Jones had off court issues.
If your definition of a headcase is confined to ON the court please include Shaq as I saw him nearly KILL a player in a game, or he would have had he connected with the swing he took. Include MJ for fighting with the Indiana player. Heck MJ himself has off court issues with his gambling (Though I always had no issue as he wasn't gambling with his food money for his family.)
No offense but you and any other poster need to study some definitions of words before you start using them as you do.... Be Good
Did you watch many of the games last year? Did you not watch many of their games last year? He is amazing and probably the best center in the league but also takes plays off and doesn't run up the court at times. That is what I as referring too.I'll stop defending Cuz after this, I'm not related to him but you must be thinking of Randolf Morris or someone else. No one has ever claimed Cuz wasn't in shape or needed training to get in shape, that's a new one on me.
IMO, cuz might be a sheed lite...I just want to know one thing...do you think of Rasheed Wallace as a head case? Because he and Cousins are VERY comparable.
Even Coach Cal had trouble coaching him. It's not being disloyal to BBN to admit that one of our players is/was immature. Every program has one. Or in Louisville's case, one hundred.
in the basketball sense? Yes.
First off, being hot-headed on the court DOES NOT equate to having attitude problems. Cousins can certainly mature a bit, but nothing off the court has ever pointed toward the guy being a problem. Second, Cousins is Top-7 player in the league right now, maybe Top-5. He's the best offensive center, an absolute force on the block, and a much better defender than people realize. If offered that trade the Lakers would take it in a literal heartbeat and never question it a single time, as would EVERY OTHER GM in the league. The Lakers would be stupid to do that trade. Okafor or Towns are both good character guys who have great post games. Why trade the rights to them for a guy that has a history of attitude problems.
Sheed is and was a thug. He had tons of off-court issues.IMO, cuz might be a sheed lite...

yelling at teammates in a non constructive way, leading the League in techs, being argumentative towards coaches and support staff, standing and watching a play on defense with your hands on your knees instead of moving because you're pouting...
I'd say all those are signs of basketball "headcase". Doesn't make him a bad person. He just has the emotions of a 12 year old.
don't misread me...I am a HUGE fan and always defend him. Last season some of his on the court behavior was sheed LITE (as in, a little like Wallace; sometimes)...in particular the taking off plays.Sheed is and was a thug. He had tons of off-court issues.
I made that comparison because both players have/had trouble keeping their tempers in check. Taking a technical foul is a bad play. You're giving the other team points and the ball. It's selfish. Also, we remember Wallace for what he did to Andre Riddick in the Elite Eight game. Well, look what Cousins did to Swopshire in the U of L game. I liked Cuz because he was a brat but he was OUR brat. I hated Wallace. That's how other fan bases feel about Cousins.
Let's just get one thing perfectly straight: Swopshire never stood a chance against DC while Riddick could have easily choke slammed Wallace to floor after that cheap elbow and beat his ass for all time. I wish he would have. I wish Andre would have choked him out and beat his dumb ass senseless, right there in Birmingham. Couple of the refs could have used a good ass beating too. That would have been great, and I swear to God I wish it had happened just that way. That's how classless I am. Hate me.
