This guy would be a good guy to bring in next year to fill a shooting role to pair with the guards we already have
Nice, we will see if the staff believes that he can play at this level. I love his fundamentals. He was the 12th ranked player in Georgia, the nations #33 combo guard, and a 3 star recruit. He would be a junior and maybe his development is good. His splits are fire all over the court. Great find.

This is more of a "fan" issue than a sports issue. This season hasn’t even begun yet, and we’ve already got threads about who we should poach in next year’s transfer portal that does not yet exist.
Man, college sports have gotten so weird.

The guy is transferring, he is quite literally in the portal, that’s why I started the threadThis is more of a "fan" issue than a sports issue.
Totally agree, though. First game is tomorrow and someone thinks we should already look past the whole season to a player who may or may not even transfer.
so is he eligible to transfer and play immediately? or does he have to sit outThe guy is transferring, he is quite literally in the portal, that’s why I started the thread
I would imagine he would have to redshirt a year. But a lot of this years roster is gone after this year. So finding pieces like this to compliment the freshman and whoever returns(garrisson, oweh) hopefully is key.so is he eligible to transfer and play immediately? or does he have to sit out
No, he’s quite literally not. Because the last portal closed months ago and the next one doesn’t open until March 24, 2025. Thus there is no portal to be in right now.The guy is transferring, he is quite literally in the portal, that’s why I started the thread
He may not be a bad take early. Probably a cheaper option for some bench shooting. He could come early and practice with the team and start learning the system a season in advance. Technically he could join any school he wanted in December and then enroll for the spring. Sit out until next season. No, he’s quite literally not. But, after a quick google, I see this kid has apparently chosen to sit out this season and already said he intends to enter next year’s portal. That seems some odd decision-making to me, but I guess he might be someone to keep an eye on.
He literally is because he announced his intention to and is redshirting so even if the portal is closed he has already announced his plans to and is sitting out. This type of thing is not new for him. He started his HS career at St. Pius X in Atlanta (I personally watched all his home games as he played along side a few of my daughter’s upperclassmen friends). He transferred to Greenforest Mccalep Christian Academy (Decatur, GA) during a mid season to join a “super team”. He them wrapped his Sr. Year at power house Milton (GA), joining another super team that ran into legal issues when two players were accused of murder (https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/20...school-student-accused-murder-expected-court/). He was not involved though. After receiving several solid offers (including Florida, Mississippi State, Mississippi, Virginia, and Xavier) he chose to start his career at Northeastern in Boston, MA. After one season as a Husky, he transferred to Wofford and played one season as a Terrier before the new announcement came down just before the season starts. No, he’s quite literally not. To me he is at least worth reaching out to and figuring out more about his situation. Good shooters like him have a role on any team. This type of thing is not new for him. Everyone I know who knows him says he is a good kid, but that his handlers can be a bit much. He’s a straight sniper and would do well in Pope’s offense. Thus, I’d be game to bring him in. Only concerns are his handlers and whether or not he is he a true team player. Should not break the bank to get him though,
It’s honestly crazy even a kid rated as low as him has handlers too. I’d take him based on his play but all that makes me think he’s a straight mercenary with no loyalty to anyone. That’s a lot of moving. This type of thing is not new for him. I look at him like a way better shooting mintz, and mintz was a decent shooterWouldn’t hurt to bring him in now (in December) and let him practice with the team and compete for back up minutes next season. We have an open scholarship.
I don’t think that’s allowed. He can’t officially enter the portal until it opens in late March, and the rules forbid recruiting transfers before then.Wouldn’t hurt to bring him in now (in December) and let him practice with the team and compete for back up minutes next season. So there is no more such thing as a mid-year transfer?I don’t think that’s allowed. He can’t officially enter the portal until it opens in late March, and the rules forbid recruiting transfers before then.
His status for the remainder of the season will be as a Wofford player …albeit one who has chosen to sit out the season as a redshirt instead of play. His next school will have to wait til next year to get him.
I thought all the scholarships were usedWouldn’t hurt to bring him in now (in December) and let him practice with the team and compete for back up minutes next season. We have an open scholarship.
We only have 12 guys on scholarship unless Pope have one to a walkon.I thought all the scholarships were used
