Schwieger from Valparaiso has indicated that he's entering the portal. Very good PF option, and he's got 2 years left. Like Andrew Carr, he can also play Center - in fact I think I like him better at Center than Owen Freeman from Iowa (who looks like a pretty good Center option and entered the portal recently).

Sub 30% from 3 with that goofy form. Doesn’t look like an SEC player. Unless he’s ok with being a reserve for injury depth, I think much better options will come available.

IDK. Someone said he's kinda like Carr in that he could play C.
He is more fluid that Carr and seemed like a more aggressive rebounder.
He doesn't play above the square but he's athletic.
I think he would be a nice add.

Having Schwieger as a 2nd Unit guy would be awesome because I'm guessing that would mean that UK got another top portal PF in addition to him. But I think Schwieger is plenty good enough to start at PF (or even possibly Center) in the SEC.
Guys that can play different positions are good additions

I think so, too. Plus, I'm not advocating that Schwieger is the best possible PF option that's going to be in the portal. In fact, I can think of 4 or 5 off the top of my head that I probably like better and there's going to be a ton more. But he's a good player and worth discussing, I believe, for those interested in talking portal options a little now.

From the perimeter Scwieger is exactly equal to Andrew Carr for all intents and purposes. Carr has shot 34.1% from 3 on 2.3 attempts per game. Scwieger has shot 33.0% on 2.9 attempts per game. Each of them has varied above and below their overall averages over individual seasons and even moreso within individual seasons. You’re going to have a hard time finding two players with results that are more similar than that in a meaningful way.

Pretty good comparison, and Carr has been vital to uk's success

Anyone else notice HOW STRONG his wrists are? Holy mackeral. Weird release, stretches out shooting arm but it's the wrist flick that does ALL the work. With seemingly little effort. Smooth around the basket, too. I'd get this guy!

Would be a perfect back up PF/C to stretch the floor.

I still would want some more athleticism out of these two spots. The lack of blocking this year is the reason why the opposing team continues the pregame lay up line into the game.

My thoughts exactly. I'm concerned about getting some shot blocking and defensive presence here.

That was my concern, that hitch is worse than Oweh’s, not to mention a ton of P5 level players will transfer here shortly.
