Well, I've said it a few times in threads the past few weeks.
There will come a day that Ferentz will be retiring-- he'll be 67 by the start of next season. While I don't think he's in it for just one more year, obviously the end is in sight sooner than later.
While I'm not the AD, it's safe to say Mark Stoops, because of his Kentucky success and his/family strong Iowa ties, people here will be clamoring for him to be the #1 target when we need a new coach (as things stand today but things can always change).
Nobody in Iowa is arrogant enough to assume Mark Stoops would leave Kentucky and automatically go to Iowa. We know he loves where he is. But from a business perspective, he absolutely is being talked about by Iowa fans as he should be.
ironically, if Kirk shockingly retired in one hour, Mark would not be the #1 Stoops brother that die hard Hawk fans would want. It would be older brother Bobby-- and a desire to pull him out of retirement (myself included). But the window of any chance with Bob is tight-- as he's already 61.

If you had told me the TO margin would be 3-1 before the game I would have definitely thought we would have been on the negative side of that but that was truly the difference in the game.

I have little doubt in my mind Bob would come out of retirement if the Iowa job were open-- likely the only job he would--that's on good authority.

Having seen the Louisville cowards come here and enjoy the free speech America is known for worldwide, yet post the slightest critical comment on their boards and Jody Demiling their moderator will ban you for life. I’d also add the goofy Vawl UweTeey fans post here , it has been a pleasant experience reading the Hawkeye fans come talk football 🏈 here.
I’d seen them play a little off and on this year, but of course not watching 4 stanzas like the Citrus 🍊 bowl game. No losers in this game and much respect to the Hawkeyes team- staff & players.
Hats off for the Hawkeyes. Well coached- highly disciplined- Very talented& experienced - Super Competitive & Gritty team with no quit in them. Van Valkenburg
is a talented big and agile human. Just a great game and great fan base. Hate we had to get the W on them,instead of a program we all dislike ( i.e. Louisville)etc.
So from now on the Big10 squad I’ll be pulling for is Iowa. Wish your team another great 2022 season.
I think we should pursue the synergy of our two states, and any of that extra Iowa corn 🌽 can be used here for a duel state synergistic bourbon 🥃 for the rest of the world to enjoy. I’ll have my message board council ( The Hack) to inc. and trademark the name -Two State Bourbon -just in case.
