Congrats on big win

Towles showed out last night, hopefully he gets as much appreciation for that game as he has heat from the UF game. He made play after play all game long.

Thanks! Georgia must have done well also, I didn't see the game but saw the score. Which team did seriously injured player play on. Been out of the loop

Hope Bulldogs can beat Bama and eventually get into Playoffs take out the Buckeyes!!!!

Thanks Grumpy, hopefully Towles continues to play this well. Good luck next week against Bama, hope you guys beat the hell out of them. I can't stand Saban.

We noticed. I don't think I've seen any negative comments on Towles last night, and in fact many who were on him pretty hard last week have gone out of their way to compliment him on last nights game. He did look decidedly better, and much more comfortable. Some of the change up's Dawson did undoubtedly helped. Now what he needs to do is string together several similar games, and then we'll have not only the confidence he can do it, but do it consistently.

We have a lot of work to do, but at least the possibility is still there for the UK/UGa game to be a big game in the SEC this year. Wouldn't that be strange? No question though, the biggest game to date will be your game with 'Bama next week. I'm looking forward to watching that one, and yes my loyalties will be with the SEC East!

It was a Southern player, wasn't a hard hit, just the way it hit. On a kickoff, he came in to block our kicker and dropped his head, made contact with top of helmet to the kicker and just folded. He shook his head and moved his arms before med staff got to him. Announced as a spinal injury and
having surgery today.

Played pretty well 2th half, first was just going through the motion.\\

On the Southern kid that was hurt, we got an update late this afternoon. He has a spinal cord injury, had surgery to stabalize the fractures. He has movement in his shoulders, arms and hands. Thats all they are saying now. Seeing that happen with no more force than it looked like was involved is pretty scarey and lets you know the targeting rule is one that needed to be there. Kid just made a mistake.

Big game next week for you guys! Are you guys prepared for it?

Bama is a tough match for us, they are built to stop a pro style offense with a pocket passer, we we are, we are built to okay against a spread offense, which they aren't.. Not sure we can score enough. Afraid they will wear us down with power run game and hit us with play action. Hopefully our an can stay hot and we can force some mismatches with their lb covering our rb. New OC has shown he is pretty good at that.

I don't understand everyone pulling for Georgia. Are we competing against Alabama for the sec east? Did they realign the divisions and I missed it?

Or are these posters just forfeiting the east with a 2-1 record? Screw that...grumpy, I'm sure you understand this, but ROLL TIDE

I can't stand Saban so I pull for any team that plays Bama other than UT or UofL.

Patrick play was outstanding! CATS defense playing like a good SEC defense!
How bout them Bulldogs, I'll be pulling for them to roll The Tide!

I can only speak for myself. I don't care if a UGa win ends up the difference in them winning the SEC East vs UK. First I seriously doubt it comes to that, and 2nd as I said I don't care. I'm one of those fans who are sick and tired of Nick Saban and Alabama. Among some fans, including apparently many UK fans the man is I guess the 2nd coming of Christ, and the single greatest football coach to ever walk this earth. I disagree on both counts, and I hope Georgia and at least one other SEC team beat them. In fact I wouldn't care if they were o-for the rest of their schedule. I'm hoping to see the day Stoop's can march his troops into Tuscaloosa and wipe the field with them. Clear enough?

uh, don't forget we're 2-1 right now in conference play. Obviously UGA is the favorite to win the East but you know, things do happen sometimes.

Be careful what you wish for.

Of course I hope UGA wins it, and I think we are the best team in the East on both sides of the ball. But I know we always have 1 or 2 WTH games a year. Last year we had the best team and didn't win it. I just hope UF doesn't win it. But anybody but UT.

I personally don't want an East team to win another conference game besides us. We are 2-1 and have an outside chance to win the east. We need all the east teams to lose their cross sectional games.

I pull for UGA because I think they have a program that all schools should aspire to. Not that they are a Championship clad program like Bama but because they appear to be one of the most ethical universities in the nation that still produces a quality team year after year. They actually do what we all supposedly value, they win with integrity and don't cheat to do so. They are not a sham sell-out to the big business corruption that is so common in TV sports today.

Hey I am just being Real obviously I want Kentucky to win East but reality right now UGA is the team to beat. I would be estatic if We could could win out in Sec! That would be so f**king sweet!

if we don't win the SEC east then i hope UGA does
i love the fact that Richt has the honor and integrity and will not tolerate players acting like criminals (regardless of talent)
IMHO i think Stoops also has that type of honor and integrity

Substitute Calipari for Saban and you just typed how many people feel about Cal and UK basketball. That said, UGA is the best road trip in the conference!!! Great people and nothing but tight black pants and tight red sweaters as far as the eyes can see. So, yeah, I'm rooting for Georgia. Plus, I like GrumpyDawg!

Rooting for UGA. We will have to beat them head-to-head no matter what they do against Bama. Besides that
I was born in Georgia and they were my favorite team when I was a kid in the '50s. Everyone else in
family was a Ga. Tech fan as Tech was big-time back then. Bulldogs of that era were pretty woeful
other than the Tarkenton teams.

Yeah and I'm still a Tech fan (at least over UGA). Agree we would have to beat them to have any chance to win East so I can root for them against Bama.

Your right. In fact I'm pretty sure that crossed my mind as I was typing it, but well it is what it is. Lots, perhaps even most sports fans tend to get tired of the same teams/coaches succeeding and develop similar attitudes towards them as I have for Alabama football. Unless they happen to be your team and coach of course. I realize very clearly that's how a large number of college basketball fans feel towards Cal. Maybe if we're lucky someday a lot of SEC fans will feel that way towards Mark Stoops! And hey, I like Grumpy to.

This thread got a little off topic, I was just congratulating UK on a big win, which I think it was, not a debate over the SEC east title. Of course everyone wants and thinks their team can win it, but this wasn't about that. Can we at least agree that everyone likes UT losing?

Grump, always enjoy your kind posts and classy words. Good luck this weekend. Do keep in mind that one of your secret weapons may be Kiffin.

Well...... I have a former student who is a UT grad and he doesn't like UT losing........ but that's about the only person I know who feels that way!

Good luck to the Dawgs Grumpy. I think you are the best in the east. But I don't want to back into anything either - yeah we lost to Florida (dang it - so close) but if we win out and you win out except for us then we should win the east. If you beat us - then you should win the east. Best chance we have had in years - but I know our chances of winning between the hedges is probably 10% or less.

Go Big Blue!

I am concerned about the Bama game, I think we are quicker and faster than them, but not sure we can stop them running over us. UF has to lose 2 games for you guys to get in, they got a tough draw from the wandest, LSU and OM, so a good chance they lose two .

Grump I was in Athens last weekend visiting family and the UGA fans I socialized with think this is your year to win the East and get into the BCS play off. There was a couple of guys in the group that says it's this year or bust for Richt. Are you sensing that's the attitude among most UGA fans? The east doesn't look that strong (again) and UGA has the best running game in the conference and a QB that seems extremely accurate in the passing game.

I am still holding my breath on the qb, I thought Vandy was better than USC, a good bit better defensively and he was pretty bad against them. The backup actually looks good, but I don't think he can make the reads our staff wants the qb to make and get us out of bad plays at the line before the snap. But we have to replace 2 OL next year, maybe 3 if a RS Jr decides to leave early and our leading WR, everyone else returns but having to replace the starting OT will be tough, at least one will likely be a true frosh. So if not this year it will be a couple years before we will have the OL to win it. Unless we were to sign a frosh who can play L OT. If Pruitt is still our DC, defense will be good enough to keep us in most games, top 8 in secondary return, 6 of top 8 LBs and 4 of 6 top DL. QB is still my biggest question offensively, but he is very good at the mental part of reading the defense and running what we need to run, but under pressure he hasn't shown he is a good passer at all and for us to beat Bama this week he is going to have to be.

As a casual UVa fan, he was maddening to watch in Charlottesville. Granted, and as you alluded to, decent pass protection can cure a lot of what ails.

It has nothing to do with who UGA is playing. We need UGA to have a minimum of 2 lossrs, maybe 3.

So your hatred for nick Saban and Alabama is greater than your desire for UK to succees.

I like Georgia...

If we need Georgia to lose then we'll get a chance to beat them ourselves.

So instead of having UGA lose to a team that doesn't effect UK at all, you would rather roll the dice of us winning out

Didn't you question my football knowledge last week? UGA is competing with UK for the east division. I would be pulling for literally anyone to beat them if it counted as a conference loss, including louisvile.

An UGA loss would still benefit us more than a victory, but to each there own.

Totally agree with just about everything here. I'm wondering if some of these folks go to a horse race, put their money down on a 8:1 horse, then hope the favorite wins becasue he's just so much more awesome then the one he bet on.o_O

I can't help it...

I like Georgia and we hold our destiny in our own hands...

If Georgia beats us head to head it won't matter anyways because they'll win the tie breaker.

This! I don't want to win because somebody lost, I want to win because we beat them.
