Common Myths or Irrelevant Arguments Regarding Bowl Games (Long and Windy)

Why do you assume that NIL contracts don't already include such a provision?

I doubt it does... NIL seems like it's free money without stipulations other than play for (insert team)

NIL with stipulations or contract would be something that I'd hope for. But then you will find players taking the easy money without those restrictions unless enforced.

Easy fix, only watch the games you want to watch.
Of course, that's always the case with anything that's on TV ... sports, or otherwise.
The OP's thesis was to make arguments for whether the bowl games are "meaningless" ... many truly are meaningless, but the real benefits are money for the schools, trips/entertainment for fans, assumedly a "reward" for team accomplishments and the opportunity to practice and evaluate for the following year ... plus, perhaps bonu$e$ for coaches.

We have someone who reads, invading our thread!

Yeah, and the broader thesis: the most important victory in UK Football history was meaningless outside of the game itself.

In other words, the first Rose Bowl and the vast majority of bowls since have been as meaningless as our more cynical posters suggest is true, today.
