99 percent convinced he was going to Oregon, but must say this afternoon heard from different directions that Nike was pushing him here, so I tuned in to see if those rumors had weight. They apparently did.

Fischer had UK all along but switched to Oregon very late. Curious what he heard or maybe he just joined the pack.

Their should be more eating crow than this. I was here posting about Murray last yr after I started watching him progress in his game. I come on here saying we needed to be after him before he played in the Nike hoops summit. Their was still those saying he wasn't very good isn't on our level etc etc.

He has the potential to be one of the best players in the country and a top 10 pick in the draft. He wants to be #1 and I like that in a kid who is hungry like that.
You guys are going to very impressed by his game. A very complete player and can pretty much do it all. Not much weakness to his game except his athletic ability is not unreal like Mulder's but very good. Better than the twins.
I think he will be the best guard on the team, prob lead us in scoring as well.

Honestly with the shirt and tie, I don't think they went shopping today. His folks and him were quiet and a lot smarter then we gave them credit for. In fact many on here thought they didn't know what they were doing nor knew what was best for their son. I salute them in making a very good decision.

Never posted either way but the whole reclassification thing to go to Oregon just didn't make any sense to me. Glad he picked UK, but would have wished him well where ever he chose. In the end these are 17/18 year old kids with a big dream and their choice is influenced a lot by family and friends good and bad. We got him, hope he exceeds even our highest expectations.

No doubt, it's only the right thing to do.

Sad thing is until all the "inside info" from Oregon players started coming out this weekend I was one of the biggest proponents that UK and Murray were a perfect, logical fit and that the type of team we'd be fielding was right in line with the current evolution of basketball that's taking place on all levels even when everyone else was screaming "We've already got 2 point guards, how on Earth are we going to play 3 point guards, these guys will never go for that, blah, blah, blah." Then I regrettably let doubt and the Spring signing period results get the best of me.

I was the exact opposite with Brown, I didn't think he was coming here at all until the last few hours of that recruitment and I set myself up for disappointment.

Moral of the story: trust your instincts. Or stop following college recruiting and letting it drive you batty. Yeah, definitely that last one.
