Column: is Auburn too dirty to win it all?

I think Auburn can win it all. Their versatility, size, speed and depth make them a difficult matchup for everyone. Losing back to back games has at least some potential to derail then chemistry-wise but outside of that, I still believe they are the best team in the country. I’d be surprised if Auburn doesn’t at minimum reach the Elite Eight.
I think the team was just mailing it in the last couple of games. Primarily because they have a #1 seed locked up and had the #1 seed in the SEC Tourney locked up as well. They will likely be the #1 overall seed in the NCAA tourney. Wasn't much motivation for them to give it their all for 40 minutes. if Baker-Mazaro (sp) can keep his head on straight, they should be able to win it all.

Amari got away with one on Grill last game that made Grill double over in pain. I'm not complaining about it though, our whistle is awful on the road, at home, neutral site... I'll take EVERY bad call I can get :D
I remember one play where, if I remember correctly, that Mitchell grabbed Brea around the waist on a screen and held him to let the shooter get open. It was blatant and right in front of the ref.

Especially for a team that had to have a flight diverted due to a fist fight before the Houston game….its easy to get along when you’re steamrolling a season…add a little adversity tho and things can go south quick

Pearl has only made 1 Sweet 16 in his time at Auburn. I would not be surprised to see UK go further than them in the NCAA. Florida is currently playing the best ball in the SEC right now imo. Alabama has loads of potential to make a deep run if they can cut turnovers out.
I wouldn't downplay Pearl's coaching. He's won the SEC regular season 3x, the tournament 2x, made the Final Four, and has 7 coach of the year awards.
