Colorado ( Spring Game)

I can’t lie. It’s really cool to see because it’s a departure from the norm. Football programs aren’t built this quickly. This is much more akin to when cal came at first and we went from NIT laughing stock to being the only thing in basketball that people talked about. Now they have to win on the field but they have disrupted the machine

DB Vito Tisdale just committed to the Buffalos also.
Speaking of Tisdale, anybody with a Smoke sighting?

I think Sanders ultimate goal is the NFL. We'll see how it goes, he's the shiny new nickel right now. That'll quickly wear off, how he does after that will determine his coaching future.

Didn't Fowler attend Colorado?

70 new players. Colorado is currently 2nd in merchandising, 1st in the Portal and have a Top 25 recruiting class.

I'm pulling for Sanders. I had a sort of disdain for his antics back in the day until I saw the 30 for 30 on him a few years ago. Prime Time was all an act. It was an act to get his Mom what she never had which was never having to work again. He did it for his Mother. I've been a Sanders fan ever since. I just gloss over the fact that he was scared to get hit and ran out of bounds a lot on kick or INT returns.

I remember one year he was playing for the Reds. He came into home and lowered his shoulder into the catcher and dam near knocked the catcher out. I figured running into a baseball player was much different than an OL or thick RB. LOl

Would like to see the video ... is my memory of the play even close to what happened.

Yeah I love the story. Any chance another option is created to break the monopoly on top talent by Bama, Georgia, Ohio is welcome.

IMO his ultimate goal is Florida St HC

How many days does Mark Stoops think back & wish he had a transfer portal to build with in 2013? Instead of a slow painful process just with HS recruiting classes of 25/yr.

Fun to watch. Saw him play baseball here. Couple of drunks kept heckling him. Smart stayin' away from the SEC. I predict he'll do fine at Colorado if he can stay away from the weed. ( not saying he partakes, I got no clue. But it's pervasive there)

Interesting that Prime was very close to losing a leg…really not out of the woods yet on that.

Speaking of Vito, he will have to follow the rules out there too. I have mixed emotions about him, I thought he was going to be really good. First he gets hurt and then misses a year, then come back and get kicked off the team because he can’t follow rules. Kentucky invested a lot lot of time and resources in him, then this.

Fowler did attend Colorado. Met him once a few years back and was very complimentary of UK's turn-around. Not so many nice things about the Buffs, though...

Nice guy... in those 10 minutes...

Bunch of CO players entered the transfer portal after the spring game. Maybe Prime isn't loved by everyone.

He literally told the preexisting players in his introductory press conference he was going to bring better guys in to replace them and most all of them would leave by summer, lol

He doesn't get much love from players on a 1-11 team, oh my!!!!!!

When Stoops first got here, we damn near sold out our Spring Game. We had over 50K in attendance if I recall. I was there. We had a huge spike in season ticket sales as well. we were hungry after the Joker years.

If they think Colorado is going to go from basically the depths we were in during the Joker years to instant success, they're delusional. They'll be better and they have the transfer portal to make the process go faster than what Stoops had to deal with, but it's not like they will be gunning for the playoffs next season.

31 degrees and snowing. It’s on ESPN right now. Theirs over 40,000 in attendance and have sold out every home game next season! Prime already paying dividends for Colorado.
Thats what temporary hype does. Stoops first year our place was packed for the initial spring game.

In 2024 Prime Time will be rolling with a very talented roster & no USC/UCLA in the conference. No outlandish whatsoever to see them show up in the 12 team CFB playoff.

I agree. It’s buzz they are generating. When’s the last time ESPN covered a Colorado spring game?

I'll believe that when I see it. They were beyond awful last year and to make the jump from arguably the worst team in D1 football to one of the 12 best would be a monumental achievement. Even without USC/UCLA, the Buffs will have Utah, Oregon, Washington, Oregon State (seemingly moving ahead at the moment), Washington State, etc. to contend with.

Already some Buff fans are complaining that CU has had >30 transfers out. Couple that with the overwhelming opinion that Prime will not be here more than 3 years, if that, I'm not sure he'll be able to convince a bunch of highly rated kids to sign/transfer next year. It's possible they'll be .500 this year and perhaps as high as 9-3 the following year. But, playoffs? I'm skeptical Prime is that good of a coach and the competition just got much tougher than Jackson State.
