I sure hope not. I love Pitino and don't want to have to pull against him.
I'd bet it if there were odds on it right now.
I have seen both teams play and I think we boat race them if it is called evenly.
Agree and totally not scared of them but that would be uncomfortable until it played out.
Hope so. Nothing better than kicking Pitino’s ass.
I'm all for those setups. Put Louisville, St John's, Arkansas, UMass, Iona, BYU, Northern Kentucky and San Diego State in the same pod. Play with the seeds a lil if you must to do it.
But also. You can't prevent them. We have a ton of history and rivals. Whoever you put in our bracket, there's going to be a story.

We will probably finish with around 10 losses, which will put us around a 3-5 seed. SJU is currently 16-3 and leading the Big East, which will put them between a 3-5 seed. We will both probably have to win a couple of games in our bracket to meet up.
St. John's is two fluke plays from being 18-1.
Pitino is still a great coach. Glad to see him bagging opponents again.

I figured that, looking at the OOC slate and how it may shape up at season's end. I'm sure they'll create a storyline to make it entertaining to see unfold.
Right now, I can actually see Duke getting the overall #1 seed (lol) and the SEC still getting 2 #1, 2 #2, and 2 #3 seeds this year. I think we're solidly set on course for a #3 seed, which was (what I thought at the time) my highly optimistic prediction at the beginning of the season. I still think we'll finish the season with 8 losses heading into the NCAA tournament, maybe 9 after the SEC tournament is done.
My only other thought is :
Coach Pope is far and away the college basketball coach of the year. Criminal if he isn't given that recognition. I cannot state how much I admire and respect him, as a man, a human being, and coach. This world would be an immensely better place if we had more such people we could recognize with positive adulation.
It has been as remarkable of a job as I have ever seen in all my years, as to what he has done, and how he has rejuvenated this fan base, and brought pride and confidence back to BBN.
