College Basketball game possibly returning

Although basketball is my favorite sport to play along with tennis, the video games have always been awful imo. They just can’t grasp the fluidity of the game or the mechanics. Football does a better job but rocket league is the purest sports game of all time.

Isn't that the soccer like game but with cars? I tried to play that a few years ago and it just wasn't my thing. I remember thinking it would've been fun but I just couldn't nail the mechanics for some reason.

It all comes down to sales.

EA pulled the franchise due to poor performance a couple years prior to the Supreme Court ruling that caused EA to discontinue the college football franchise, if I recall correctly.

Just not sure what kind of market there is for a college basketball game.
EA said CFB exceeded expectations plus gaming is way bigger than it was in 2009. College basketball is bigger too. There's a market IMO

Would be awesome! CFB 25 is a banger and I would be thrilled with this as well.

I was to top 3 nationally in the last EA game. Im hoping this boosts my nerd cred, but might also indicate that 2010 @KAB Cats had a lot of time on his hands.

Zero point zero chance I get that deep again, but this is the only game I can think of where I take a loss personally. I refuse to see Kentucky basketball lose, even in a video game. Like...I can't let it happen.

2K is a better product for basketball, but I'd take any vendor that puts it out.

For EA, the investment is probably not astronomical given they could port rebuilt the football recruiting engine and that they are currently working on a total rewrite of NBA Live to compete with 2K

Also, Im gonna multi-post out of protest for dumbshit internet politico talk.

Fwiw, I'd argue that the best lineup in Kentucky history is as follows:

PG - Thurber
SG - Hewlett (shouldn't be 6th man)
SF - McManus
PF - Olsen
C - Burns

Hewlett is arguably the best shooter in UK history. Didn't get nearly enough PT on that team.

He got all the minutes fatigue and foul trouble allowed everytime I played. Love that you remember the rest of the line-up. This game and Madden Football were the only 2 games that I ever played for any extended amt of time. I played both Bengals teams (81 and 88) and could win most games w/ either, but my go to team, with which I could not be beat, was the 85 bears.

What a dumb thing to say. You think the last 4 years have been good lol?
Have been for me. I don't need an idiot running around throwing out non-white immigrants and their families. Nothing about the way things were bothered me or affected my life at all, except that pesky ole killing kids in schools thing. I don't have any fear that Venezuelan gang members are somehow going to turn my nice suburban 'hood into the ghetto. I am not worried about immigrants - illegal or legal - taking my job because they already do jobs I don't want to do anyway (but are necessary). They may be getting some healthcare that comes from us, but that's just being humane, not being bilked (besides, our healthcare sucks BAD and like everything else is nothing more than greed/ profit driven by the same billionaire types you just voted into office).

But hang on there buster, you're about to get the ride of your life, and although you might get what you wanted in kickin' out them stinky ole Mexy-cans (as if they're taking your job...seriously...), religion shoved in everyone's faces, and those trannies that seem to really bother you (somehow...do you ever see them in KY??) straightened back into the men/women they really are, you're about to get a hell of a lot of misery you never thought you'd get. Realize first and foremost these billionaires DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. They want to OWN you. They USED you to get into power, and now they're about to SHIT ALL OVER YOU. Everything is about to get way more expensive, and there's no way to blame "them dumb libs" because "them dumb libs" have no power in all of government for at least the next two years.

You can laugh at me all you want - I'll still have a job and will still be able to afford these coming crazy ass prices (I needed a reason to stop buying Chinese junk anyway, so that'll be a welcome change).

That's my one political post for the year, and I managed to make it to the last week of December before I let it out.

Hewlett from half court was money

Starting the small ball lineup instead of the only true center on the team in Elway? Interesting.

Seriously though, seeing you guys talk about that game brings up a lot of good memories for me. It was probably my first video game as a kid, and I played it until much of it is burned into my brain until this day. Hewlett was almost unfair, because the 3 point specialists in that game were in range anywhere inside half court, which I definitely cheesed against the CPU.

Yep: If I remember right the only better shooter in game was on Ok State.

I bought CFB25 but didn't play it as much as I thought I would have. Not sure if I'm getting old or UK football put a damper in this season.

Hope if they bring it back they can let us play with college basketball legends as well. That would be my interest getting to play with Wall, Cousins, Issel and heck any UK team.
Same, CFB 25 is a quality video game but I lost my enthusiasm once UK started tanking

Cfb25 was fun until I got to season 6 and UK started having just 6 sec games a season. I did nothing to customize conferences and EA can't even add to 8 for each sec team.

yea, a buddy of mine got me into over 7 years ago and i couldn't touch the ball, stupid hard but in terms of e-sport and mechanics nothing comes close in gameplay. i played football games as a youngin from tecmo to joe montana on sega to 2k dreamcast and cfb. then played fifa only for like 8 years and now rocket league ever since.

5 minute games, constant ebb and flow between offense and defense. can scratch the itch in one game or run for an hour. my handle is 'a buttered cat'
