Coaching malpractice by Pope.

I'll say the same thing I said last year when people said this about Cal and Sheppard.

Why are people so quick to blame absolutely everything on the coach? Brea is the one out there shooting, not Pope. It's Brea's responsibility to work hard enough to get his shot off. The other team is also trying to stop him. It's not as easy as just drawing up plays for a shooter.

He’s gotta be on the court though, right? I mean, he’s been sitting next to Pope most of the game, and almost all of the second half.

How is he supposed to shoot when he barely comes off the bench?

Hes got to get the minutes to do that.

He's been one of the worst guys on the floor tonight. And this wasn't exactly the type of game he excels in. You saw it on that last possession when Butler hit that 3. Something was clearly drawn up for Brea but Clemson completely took him out of the play.

When he was in he was getting blown by on D and offensively he was a mess with the ball.

Maybe the right move was to keep playing him and hopes his shooting cancelled the rest out. But he was a liability in the first half

Butler being saddled with foul trouble all game is what killed us. Meanwhile their bull in a china shop big man didn’t have a single foul.

How do you only get 3 shots off with Brea???
So a team takes a player out of the game by making sure he is guarded. You want to have Brea go up on 2 guys, oh you want to have every play drawn up for Brea. OK. UK had to overcome the refs tonight and could not do it. You want to go back and look at 20 rebound boy and tell me how he did not get any fouls, Maybe you want to watch Oweh drives where he was bumped and no call and then the play where the Clemson player side stepped, was not hit by Oweh but still a foul on Oweh. Get out of here.

  1. Pope is a realistic candidate for us.

Yet here we are, looking down the barrel of Mark Pope. This is what we get for running off a HOF coach. We could’ve let him leave on his own terms but the fan base doesn’t realize what universe we live in now. This isn’t 2008 where a big bag of money solves all your problems.

Pope is a realistic candidate for us.

Like I said, running Cal off wouldn’t attract a tier 1, tier 2, and Pope is a boardline tier 3 candidate. This was always where we were headed.

This you? Yeah, your opinion is worth less than nothing.

Pope was awful tonight, but it wasn't because Brea only took 3 shots. Stupid ass line-ups that weren't working, sitting Brea down 5 with 3 or 4 minutes to go. Playing Kriisa and Carr together. Running Kriisa at the point when he's been garbage on the ball all season.

Why are there a bunch of negative posts tonight from posters I've never heard of before?

Oh, that's right. Don't take the bait, folks.
There's a bunch of Calipari brainwashed idiots that have been waiting to trash Pope. I really need to stop visiting this board. I'm a low key laid back person for the most part, but the posts here trigger my intolerance for idiocy.

Brea has to be tougher. If he can’t get open then he literally has little to no value. However he was absolutely covered hard all night
And when he is covered hard it leaves others open. Having him out there helps everyone out. The thing is a guy like Brea can go scoreless for 15 but all of a sudden pop for 9 points in 2 minutes. I can't understand how people are defending him sitting the bench when he is an elite 3 point shooter. He needs the shots.

But him being on the floor should make it easier for others. You can't just have a weapon like him sitting on the bench when your struggling to score.

Somebody else was awful tonight
