University of Kentucky will be in to see Ramey Jets United's Mark Smith next Thursday!.

I hope it's not because we're losing everybody and cal is just trying to fill the roster.

Right now we're looking at 4 guards at most on the roster next season, 3 if Briscoe leaves early, and none of those guys are noted to be reliable makes from 3 point range. If Smith can provide depth and potentially fill a needed role, it's worth extending an offer and seeing what he can contribute.

Not trying to be a smart ass but who? I sorta have stayed away for a few days . If this a recruiting who is on the come up ?
6'5 SG built like a linebacker. Used to pitch baseballs at 90mph but hurt his elbow. Switched to basketball and won the Illinois POY.

Under the radar type of guy.

I took it he played baseball until he was 16.. That's when he quit and went with basketball.. If he's doing what he is now with only a couple years of playing basketball,, dudes got A LOT of potential to be really great.. At 230 lbs,, he reminds me of Briscoe in his clips at getting to the rim and finish through contact.. He's definitely not afraid to take it inside..

Kid is a stud...really hope UK gets him. We be good first year at UK..a star the second year.

Who sent this tweet? Headline makes it sound like Cal sent it. Which would be an NCAA violation, of course, for mentioning a recruit by name who was not already signed.
Clearly it was the High School coach that sent the tweet.

College coaches are allowed to mention recruits by name, but only to confirm if they are recruiting them. By and large though most schools avoid formally discussing recruits in any fashion. Just to be safe. Although many programs will discuss recruits off the record. (Kansas).
