Coach Leah dead at 61

I would like to see UK honor coach Leach by wearing his initials on their helmets during our upcoming bowl game.

Barnhart will check with sponsors and get back to you on that.

Edit: he checked, they said it’s fine but he still doesn’t trust it. No go.

If we could just slip a couple beers into his freezer and somehow he makes a mistake, we’d have those letters, an unlocked UK logo, no more bird logos, staple removers, and maybe even a jump out logo again.

We gotta get this guy tipsy.

Leach and Mumme certainly deserve credit for some Air Raid concepts, but when this subject is discussed, I usually interject the MASSIVE influence Lavell Edwards had on the system.

As Mumme told the story, he meekly approach LE about studying his system, and Edwards gave him a key to his film room, telling him to take his time.

Those first two seasons, the second when Leach joined the staff, were like a bomb going off in the SEC. We had 8 and then 9 Nationally or regionally televised games those years, putting Rob Bromley to bed earlier and more often than ever. Bromley was still doing the delayed telecasts, which were not done if the game was televised on a big network.

Oddly, one game that escaped network coverage was the ‘97 Bama game, likely the most watched (and rewatched) Bromley broadcast.
