Coach Cal on recruiting, "We're not quite done yet"

He would come here to be an NBA player, don't you think? Cal never promises playing time...

He's been playing a few years now... is 6'8 and a guard and shoots it at 41% from deep. .... and started for an ACC team. if this kid wants the NBA... he's going to need to be the MAN... like Hield was for OU ........thats not going to happen at UK.

You have to remember when it comes to players and the NBA... if guards arent ready in 2 years...... the NBA gives up on them unless its a Hield situation. Being a bench player at UK wont work for this guy.

Maybe he's got an alpha mentality and wants to improve by going against the best of the best every day in practice and hopes that Cal can help him with the defensive part of his game (as well as marketing him after his playing career at UK is over). Maybe he wants to play on a team that he knows is going to win a lot of games and doesn't mind a more limited role than he'd get elsewhere. Not every players thought process about choosing where they want to play is going to be the same. There's plenty of reasons as to why he'd want to come off the bench here.

Why are you comparing Maye and Johnson? one is a 6'8 version of M. Mulder and the other is a poor man's Scott Padgett. ...........

The only thing they have in common is that both would be backups at UK next year if they were to be here.

Between his Luke Maye reference, his screenname and his post today saying Bam should stay in the draft I'm wondering if he's a UNC fan?
