Coming out of the eight minute media timeout of the first period Mark Pope went to starting the offensive possessions with the middle ball-screen. They are able to drag Hunter Dickinson with it, but the mid-roll is not open. When it isn't Aly Khalifa comes back to the top, gets the ball, and they go right into Zoom on the left side. The first cutter is not open, so the handoff goes to the second. Kansas is once again switching. It is hard to tell if this is a double team or a hard drag, but Kansas is chasing #30, Dallin Hall, with two men. Once you start chasing you can't recover against all of the ball and player movement. BYU is very organized in positioning when the ball is penetrated to the middle. They feel out and up which is an old Princeton offensive principle. The player who cuts through cuts out to the corner, and the corner cuts up to the wing. BYU is constantly passing to the vacated spot of kicking out when the dribble is picked up. When #20 Johnson picks his dribble up Kansas only has one defender on the right side to cover two perimeters. The wing pass is taken in the closeout which leaves the corner shot off the extra pass wide open .
