Here was a situation where the ball was brought down one side of the floor, and the initial action was run on the other. The ball is reversed to Khalifa at the top, and he looks to go Zoom. The corner backcuts however, so that leaves two on the ball-side. Jaxson Robinson is the wing. He comes to get the handoff from Khalifa. There is a re-screen, and now Kansas has switched and put a guard on Khalifa. He goes straight to the block. Give BYU credit. They recognize the mismatch and go right to it. Kansas fronts which leaves the lob open from the wing. The pass is made, and the double comes from under the basket. The rest of the Jayhawks are supposed to be zoning up. The technique is bad. There are no butts to the baseline. They are all facing the ball, and don't see the man. Noah Waterman senses this from the opposite wing. Pope is big on the 45 degree cut. He face cuts #25, Nicolas Timberlake who never sees him. He is supposed to cut to the front of the rim, and he does. There was good recognition here throughout the play, and a great cut and read by Waterman.
