Crean needs to justify his worth on and off the court, and this angle does NOT make him look good.

Other takeaway from this story? Bo Ryan; He may not be the best, but once again, you could sure as heck make a strong claim that he is.

I'm just thinking that this comparison says more about Wisconsin and how little they spend than it does about iu or any other program. I mean Illinois spent like 7 times what Wisc did.... when's the last time they did anything ? It could also have much to do with what expenses are actually attributed to recruiting. Maybe these schools are playing with the numbers a little.

Either way, I only chimed in because the op posted a story about Wisconsin and the fact that they only spent 62,000 on recruiting doesn't make the loss to them look any better.

Buried amongst expenditures, auditors have discovered an inordinate amount earmarked for Bloomington Florists on February 14th ~ Valentine's Day. Additional expense account was labeled "I've been thinking about you a lot."

I like to bash Clappy and the Loosiers whenever I can, but let's be fair. To begin with, Wisconsin doesn't really need to spend a lot on recruiting... they just have to get those recruits to a tour of the local dairy. Once those kids get a look at those giant cheese wheels... done deal!!!

Army....Wisconsin was really good. I'm not sure why you'd refer to them as 'FK and stiffs'. All year long we heard they were the kind of team "that could beat UK". We found out later that going in to the season, other than winning a title, their #1 goal was to get a rematch with UK. They got it, and our guys let another win over them get away late. Does it piss me off? Of course it does...but I have to give their team credit. They were 1 of the top 3 teams in the nation last year. Our roster may well have been the most talented in history. Unfortunately, in the NCAA tournament, the best team doesn't always win it.
