CI Wrestling Thread #56

Counterpoint: someone like Liv Morgan would likely kick 80% of the paddock's ass.
Not what I was saying. Wrestlers know how to throw punches and shit so you are probably right. She’d punch us in the face and we’d drop like nobody’s business.

What I am saying if myself and 2 or 3 others are trying to restrain someone like Liv and keep her from going from point A to point B, say 15 yards away, I think we could do it. Especially if we were “security.”

I mean, sure. But wrestling is wrestling. Their version of security is local and former guys in the business who know the plot. Pull-aparts are chaotic and fun. If we go in your direction, which is sensible in the real world, everyone would be one giant bruise. Faces would be bruised and busted permanently. If I'm put into a corner of a room and punched ten times, I'm done. In wrestling, that poor punched soul is back to super kicks and hip tosses within seconds. Also, in the world of social media, we've all seen videos of small women/drunk college girls having a fit or trying to fight. That's pretty chaotic and doesn't calm down quickly.

Just put some food at the bottom of a hole like in Loony Tunes. Surely one of the more portly women will fall in

Bayne beating the breaks off Storm for the title should be an option now since they already went the attack route. TK should want fans in six months saying, "Won't happen but I wish we could see Bayne vs Ripley." MVP managing Megan Bayne sounds legit.

Wrestling fans are changing a bit. Rhea owned Raw for over a year and then Liv became the best part of the show at times. NXT is being held on the shoulders of women and in AEW, it's been Storm and May as the constant positive. I think fans want to see badass, entertaining women more now. AEW already fudged Kamille, hopefully Bayne is booked much better.

Kamille fudged herself by being terrible. She’s the white Jade Cargill but without the looks or the charisma.

i know this isn’t logical but I hate seeing wrestling talent with social media. It cheapens the product. It’s a constant blending in and out of character.

If you meet a wrestler, do you refer to them as their actual name or their gimmick name? I don't know them personally but I'd feel weird walking up to someone and saying "Hey Macho Man". I'm not going to go up to Tom Hanks and say "Hey Forrest Gump", or "Hey Clark Griswold" if I meet Chevy Chase.

Wrestler name. Years ago Conrad met Undertaker and said he wasn't sure how to address him so he called him "Mr. Taker." Just a respect thing. I'm not calling Punk Phil, HBK Michael, Triple H Paul, etc. There's video from the early 2010's of a fan calling Punk Phil and Punk basically said, "call me Punk. We're not friends, we don't know each other."

Wrestlers are such an odd group of people because to me it just seems weird. I understand CM Punk saying that, but there isn't any difference in wrestlers and actors. I'm sure an actor would think it was weird to be referred to by a fan as one of their characters.

On one hand taker was one of the few that tried to keep kayfabe his entire career - only until recently did he embrace the non undertaker real life role.

Good morning, Raw is overseas so I believe it airs live on Netflix at 3:00 pm or something like that.

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and John Cena "under one roof."
WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker vs. Finn Balor.
Jey Uso vs. Austin Theory.
Penta vs. Ludwig Kaiser - No Holds Barred.
Dakota Kai vs. Ivy Nile.

Ya sd was delayed on Friday so I accidentally came across the tag team result a few hours early.

I wonder how long they are going to do the Aleister Black vignettes until he returns? Will he be the new member of Judgement Day?

Will Penta and Fenix tag up or will they both be singles?

I look for Theory to turn babyface shortly.

The whole Cena final tour and heel turn seems forced and isn't doing it for me. Is it just me or is anyone else put off by him returning part time on a farewell tour and being thrown right into the Main event title picture?

I heard post mania Smackdown for Black

Penta and Rey tagging

Theory as a face will be tough to do because he has such a punchable looking face. He’s like the WWE Sammy Guevara, for me at least.

I’ve always hated the idea of a part-timer taking spots, especially major PPV spots, at the expense of talent who are putting in the work around the clock to keep the business going. But like with Sting on his retirement tour, Cena is on the hook for much more dates than is typical for what a WWE part timer typically does. Plus you know it’s a legend retiring, he deserves a major spot like that AND its going to do good business. So that’s all good by me.

Now would I have Cena WIN the title? I most certainly would not, but I’m like 99.9% sure he will.
