Why are they doing this? Its one thing for MJF and jj for unknown reasons but nobody thinks Rhodes is winning.

I was thinking about that and I’m not sure either. But I can say MJF’s crowd was dead for his promo last night. I’m not sure if they are going to have him try to murder Rhodes to get some heat back or what but that was my only guess.
JJ/Rhodes/Jericho shouldn’t be getting tv time in 2025 - that’s just clogging up time for someone they could be building up for the future.
I just found it entertaining that MJF clapped back at Korderas whose joined the long list of folks who bash everything about AEW to get clicks.
Maybe they are doing an MJF wants to get rid of all the old guys in AEW until the feud with Hangman finally takes off. It's not great but I'm sure we will get a good match out of it next week.

Thing is MJF is saying stuff that’s already widely known or already been said - meanwhile he’s just treading water against low/mid card guys - just not ideal for someone you gave a nice raise to.
Swerve messed with max caster for one week then went back to feuding with main event talent.
MJF might wanna ask himself why he's being booked like a dipshit instead. Screwing around with uncool legends and elders, lazy taped vignettes, failed storylines. I hope AEW and their fans don't think he's going to re-sign again for another 3-5 years once his current deal is up. I can't imagine him as a lifer there and it's likely he jumps to WWE. So AEW, imo, has limited time with him. They need to make the most of it because while I do think Swerve, Ospreay, and Toni Storm are AEW lifers, MJF isn't. And WWE won't drop the ball with him. He'll have programs with all their current top guys and future guys like Breakker and Fatu.
MJF pretty clearly has a program building with Hangman. I swear some of y’all don’t pay any attention and just repeat what click bait engagement farmers say.
Building, sure. Let's start it with a quickness and stop screwing around with Jarrett and ROH superstar Dustin Rhodes then. AEW hasn't dropped the ball with MJF for the most part. He's accomplished a ton but you can't deny the last year has been a bit lackluster. Whatever aura he had isn't there right now. Hopefully Page brings that out in him and we see the best of MJF again. We saw a better Swerve in his feud with Page.

lol no. I'm saying get it started now, not build it quickly. They can have a six month program if they want but teasing it while one of them is fumbling about with 50+ year olds ain't it. Would be like teasing a feud with Drew and Punk but first Drew needs to get past the LWO and RVD. You can admit that at least the last few weeks of MJF haven't made a lick of sense.

I asked Chat GPT and it's at least 18 PPV matches together if you count NXT, Tag/1vs1, and MITB type matches.
Do you count their ROH matches too, though I guess Sami was El Generico there.

My wife is probably more of a casual fan, but she does watch with me most of the time. She just doesn't pay as close of attention as me and generally tends to pay more attention to WWE shows. She tends to prefer characters over high spots, like most casuals.
We were watching this week's Dynamite, which I agree with other posters was a much stronger episode than many of late. During the Dustin/MJF segment, she asked "Why is MJF fueding with Double J and Goldust?"
I shrugged and said, "AEW."

Wonder if AEW gives Bea Priestly/Blair Davenport another shot. She was only released because of COVID travel restrictions.
Deville and Davenport don't have charisma and if you want goth and leather with pale skin, I give you Rhea Ripley, who has tons of charisma. Ellering and AOP never connected and that slow, menacing speech pattern type stuff seems cornball in 2025. Kross is slowly getting a reaction now because he's showing more personality. Ellering/AOP dragged him down. Cedric had decent matches in NXT but lost most of them. If you can't even get pushed there, what's the point? Maybe that's a charisma thing too. He's always just been "there."
Yep, I haven’t heard of half of them either I don’t watch NXT so I assume they are from there.
Work rate only gets you so far in wwe - out of the rehires only Kross looks like he’s made the most of it. I was hoping they’d do something with him and SZ but now looks like he’s feuding with KO again.
Dawn was in a tag team with Alba Fyre, The Unholy Union. Yes, I realize these are terrible names. They were the witchy, wiccan kinda team. Once you're brought up from NXT, it's sink or swim. Creative needs to do its job but if you're coming out to no reaction again and again, you should probably be asking yourself why. Melo is treated like a bit of a putz but fans love to boo him so he gets tv time every week.
The core strength Drew showed doing that is unbelievable, even with a lot of help from the other two.
