CI Wrestling Thread #56

Oops didn't see the AEW thing had been posted. On another note if you like to follow their attendance, or lack thereof as sometimes is the case, that's a cool page I found.

Raw for tonight, think this one was taped already but maybe not.

WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair vs. WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax - WarGames Advantage Match.
The New Day vs. Alpha Academy.
Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee vs. American Made.

Wish they had done the breakup once Big E wasn’t coming back - they’ve been treading water for so long now it just doesn’t feel near as important. They are suddenly tired of losing well they’ve been jobbing out for 2+ years now.

Credit Squared Circle for reminding me that 10 years ago today, Colt Cabana released his podcast interview with Phil Brooks. It was Thanksgiving morning and I was listening to an angry, bitter 36 year old rant about WWE, Vince and Hunter, making Roman look strong, getting fired on his wedding day, and zpacks. Holy shit it was great.

Ten years later, he's the mortal enemy of one company, practically a savior to the company he once hated, and now actually seems happy and calm. And on Saturday, he'll be on the same side as Roman...probably making him look strong.

If anyone's interested Cody Rhodes in on the Tonight Show this evening. Will be on later due to football.

Enjoyed most of Dynamite last night, the segment above wasn't one of them. I do like the Continental Classic though.

It's November 28th, the anniversary of one of the best matches, certainly most brutal, of all time.

Smackdown for this evening..

Last stop before Survivor Series.
Men’s War Games Advantage Match: Jacob Fatu vs. Jey Uso.

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Carmelo Hayes.
Women’s U.S. Championship Tournament: Michin vs. Piper Niven vs. Lash Legend.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Andrade.

Hard to forget that night. Fox News was on top of it so I was flipping between that and Raw. I think maybe an hour into Raw Fox had reported no signs of a break-in and a possible murder weapon (cord) had been found. For everything you can fault Vince/WWE for, I give them a pass on that. With an entire family gone, it's hard to see the show continuing as normal, his friends/co-workers immediately coming to the conclusion that Benoit murdered his family, and USA likely wouldn't have put up a rerun from the week before anyway.

Does Peacock have other things worth watching that can’t see elsewhere? Wondering if it’s worth it for just this one event.

Women's match felt forced...because it was. There's one, central storyline and the other women don't have a place in it. The Bloodline, Punk, and possibly Rock's return was always going to overshadow it but I haven't liked the lack of build to the first match for weeks.

The show most of the things that air on NBC, plus it has a lot of the older wrestling stuff that was on the WWE Network, which I like to watch. Have a few good series too.
Think you can get a year for 20 dollars or something like that.

Cool they gave nakamura the belt - la knight is better when he’s chasing the belt - he was a good champ and will prob get it back around wm but he’s better when he’s chasing it.

- Tiff should've cashed in.
- Liked Nakamura getting gold although there wasn't a build. Literally returned, attacked, and won. Knight chasing will make him hotter though. His US reign sucked imo.
- IC triple was great. Sheamus feuds with Kaiser and then gets Breakker at WM. Crowds loving the ginger.
- Priest needs a reset but we're getting more of him and Finn. Not thrilled.
- Men's match was great. Sets up Punk vs Reigns next year. Punk, Roman, and Paul having several segments together has potential to be better than Punk and Drew. Guess they're saving Rock for Netflix and beyond. I get the ending though. There's been lots of bad Bloodline on top endings and very few OG Bloodline celebrating together.
