CI Wrestling Thread #56

He looked dangerously close to not getting all the way around on that move. Could have been REALLY bad and probably something I’d suggest Bron not try again.
That was my thought as well. That could have been really bad for him.

I like the suspense of not knowing who the 5th man will be.
Adding Bronson, and then the Bloodline coming out for his match vs Rollins, makes you think it will be Rollins. But then what he says makes you think not him. And the bloodline did not enter the match or ring during it.
And what was the point of that Wiseman call by Roman if was just going to make it Rollins? Maybe the Wiseman shows up last minute with the 5th man.
Stroman, he had a torn groin muscle, right? That doesn't sound like a fast recovery. So he may not be ready yet.

As for the women, we all assumed Rhea would be the 5th, right?

Not great -

The Rock’s new movie ‘RED ONE’ opened with $34.1M in its domestic box office debut.

The movie had a budget of $250M and roughly $100M in marketing costs.

I believe it’s time for The Rock to either ditch Hollywood, or focus on becoming a regular on WWE Monday Night RAW as the company moves to Netflix in January.

His last few movies haven't done that well, we may see him pop up more on WWE TV going forward.

Smackdown did it's lowest number in quite some time on Friday.
1,234,000 viewers and a .32 in the demo.
I'm sure it's because of the Tyson-Paul fight but still not great.

AEW announced a bunch of new dates for the end of 2024 and early 2025. Smartly they are running many smaller venues. That includes Broadbent Arena on January 16th for a Collision taping.

How many does broadbent hold? 3000?

Saw a couple of In Your House PPV's at Louisville Gardens back in the mid to late 90's. It was a great place to see a show.

According to Wikipedia Broadbent seats 6,600, so maybe 4,000 for AEW.

Also from their press release the first show on Max will be January 1st.

Louisville Gardens was my absolute favorite place to watch shows in the 1990's!
So much magic watching uswa in Louisville gardens.

I once went to a wwf house show and they were taping so far ahead they had hbk doing matches with the ic belt at the house show a month before he beat British bulldog for the ic belt on snme.

It was very odd the announcer said “your new Ic champ Shawn Michaels ” I guess to cover their bases on the obscurity.

Box office has essentially been “not great” since Covid - only a few movies can make big bucks nowadays - makes you wonder why they spent so much $$$ to film it knowing it prob wouldn’t yield an ideal roi.

Went to Broadbent as a kid to watch hockey. It's primarily used for graduations, bed races the local media does a week or two before Derby, and monster truck rally type events now.

Impressive buildings don't matter when it's a small funeral inside. You can't have a situation like last week when it's so dreadful in an arena that fans would rather yell WWE references that the tv audience can hear. NXT embraces their small, passionate base and whether AEW fans want to admit it or not, AEW is closer to NXT than Raw or SD.

Moana 2 is coming out next week I think. I imagine it'll do well. Rock made the mistake of saying yes to everything and choosing to work with friends over taking good projects. No one wants to see him and Kevin Hart in a bunch of movies together and someone who looks like The Rock shouldn't be doing terrible movies for little kids. Arnold understood that which is why he did several classics for teens and young adults before jumping to Junior and Batman & Robin.
