Would be a good hire, did not know he was Bill Murray 's son.I'd pass on Powder and hire Luke Murray if I were Xavier.
Will Hurley still be the best ****ing coach in the game without Luke by his side? I’ve heard Luke is the brains behind their offense.I'd pass on Powder and hire Luke Murray if I were Xavier.

Hurley and staff are damn good. I mean he's handled success like a teen who went from awkward to getting any date they want--ego gets in the way but yesterday's game was a good sign of his coaching chops. Will Hurley still be the best ****ing coach in the game without Luke by his side? Ty sir. Murray is an intriguing prospect.Hurley and staff are damn good. I mean he's handled success like a teen who went from awkward to getting any date they want--ego gets in the way but yesterday's game was a good sign of his coaching chops.
One thing I do like that Hurley's done for Murray/Kimani Young is he's told them in this current NIL world-you are better off being a highly paid Assistant at a big time program than just taking any HC job. Hurley is smart in guiding them that way and he'll push for both of them this offseason hard--I'd expect him to push for Murray at Xavier and Young at VCU. Programs where they can take their talent and are great 1st time HC jobs at programs that have a history of investing in basketball/developing good coaches.
Know it's hard to put aside the nonsense, but if you look at what he's done as a coach/changing his philosophy, I respect that a great deal as so many guys (Buzz Williams for instance) dig in with a style that has 0 chance to succeed in the NCAA Tournament. Greg Gard at Wisconsin did that this offseason as well-seeing them play free flowing offensive basketball was shocking and enjoyable to watch them play this year unlike the past 30 under Bennett, Ryan, and Gard.
Interesting part is that I think he won't have a line of guys wanting to go work for him. Murray had worked with Hurley since Wagner College days. He's just as hard on Staff members as he is himself and the players. You have to have a mindset to work with someone so maniacal and intense about things that many coaches just brush aside. The video of him at a Summer Workout made me laugh when he was calling out a Manager.....telling Murray and Young they need to get their drills going with better tempo....and he's kind of a guy that wouldn't shock me if he was in headlines for quitting after a practice and going to coach HS basketball again. Mental illness is real and fact he openly admits he deals with it....think we see that success sometimes is far worse for someone who battles those demons than just existing and competing.Ty sir. Murray is an intriguing prospect.
Hurley’s antics aside he really is a good coach, almost took down Fl. He will continue to have them in the hunt, people will line up to replace Murray if he leaves.
