If you consider 4ppg and 9mpg as being a rotation player then we will certainly go more than 7 deep.Well I just pointed it out because you said Vargas was our 7th man, when, as you just said, he was a very distant 8th.
But Wiltjer averaged double-digit minutes, and played in every single game for a national championship team that boasted 6 NBA draft picks, I'd say that counts as being "in-the-rotation", in every sense of the word.
I could see our rotation looking similar to the one in 2012, when it comes to the way minutes are split:
Ulis(Teague)- 32.6mpg
Labissiere(Davis)- 32mpg
Murray(Lamb)- 31.2mpg
Briscoe(Kidd-Gilchrist)- 31.1mpg
Poythress(Jones)- 29.3mpg
Lee(Miller)- 26.1mpg
Matthews(Wiltjer)- 11.6mpg
Mulder(Vargas)- 6mpg
Might see a little more for Matthews or Mulder and a little less for Lee depending on foul trouble.
Do you expect to see much improvement from Lee? If so what areas?
I just would like to see him improve his FT% by +10 or so.
Ok well I don't think he will look like a totally different player then. Lobs and offensive rebounds is pretty much the only way he has ever scored. His MO has been a spark off the bench. A totally different play would look like a player that worked on his offensive game to the point where he scores in other ways BESIDES lobs and put backs. Back to the basket post moves and a face up game would be a start.
Tubby is gone let it goHe's legit. He'd of been e our star recruit in a Tubby Whiff recruiting class.

I only used scoring with Wiltjer because that was all he brought to the table. Poythress and Johnson, to varying degrees, brought rebounding and defense. It was 12 MPG and it does not really matter how much he scores.
Before he went down this year, Alex Poythress barely averaged 5 PPG, does that mean he wasn't in the rotation?
Last year, Dakari Johnson only averaged 5 Points and 14 minutes a game, was he not in the rotation as a freshman?
If a guy averaged double-digit minutes and appears in every single game throughout the season, he is in the rotation. Its that simple.
If he averaged 8 MPG and only appeared in 23 out of 40 games, THEN he would not really be in the rotation.
But Wiltjer averaged double-digit minutes, and played in every single game, including in the Final Four and National Championship games.
So yes, he was in the rotation.
I consider Wiltjer a rotation player in 2012. He played in every game. He averaged double digits in minutes played. To me, that equals a rotation player.

Same here. He was the last guy in the rotation...and his job was to try to hit a 3 or two a game. He did that well at times...not so well at other times.
Mathews was a highly rated 5star a year ago wasn't he. Like I said he's gonna surprise some folks. From what I see he's a DeAndre Liggins type. He should come off the bench and give us a spark and be an elite defender.
I like Liggins and all bot geez, give the guy a little more credit since he hasn't played a game yet.
