Is there any news on Briscoe changing his mind and coming back? I've got to think that Cal has told him he wont be a first rounder...

He signed with an agent and said flatly there was no way he was returning, so I'd say no better than 50-50.
Briscoe is going to surprise a few on this board but not me. I think he makes it. (IF he gets a chance) He seems a better fit to the NBA game than to college as he never wanted to be a college player in the first place. (For some on this site, yes he loved Kentucky and the team...he is a Cat but he could have done without college....)

Don't see it. He got his shot blocked more than any UK player ever. If he has trouble getting his shot off in the lane in college, think about what legit 7 footers will do to him when he tries to drive the lane. They will put it in the 20th row. Wish him all the best, though.
I was overseas with limited internet connection, just got back yesterday. Super sucks. Briscoe was my second favorite player on the team after willis. Not sure why he would want to leave if he won't get drafted at all. nbadraft.net doesn't have him in either round. did he have a falling out with cal?
Maybe if he grows a mustache and signs a letter of intent under the name Joe Dirté.
Understood and I agree with most of what you stated. I am just not going to bet against Briscoe making it. I don't mind a gamble now and then but I'd walk away from betting against IB in this situation. Only time will tell. Be Good
I hope to hell he makes it and proves most on this board wrong. I think it will be an uphill battle though, for sure.
There is a better chance that the earth is a globe than there is that Briscoe will return.
He just doesn't want to be in school. Nothing but love for UK though.

No need to fret. Cameron Johnson as a JR > Isaiah Briscoe coming back as a JR. Plus,if you look at our current needs, it it Johnson ahead by a mile. IMO, we will get either Bamba or Bam back.
Assuming that, Cameron Johnson is the most needed "recruit" left in the class. He is really that good.

I like Briscoe, but he can't play at the next level. He's delusional about how good he is.

While what you state is true while Briscoe was here I think a lot of that had Briscoe pushing himself to be involved more as he was not in the distributing position (PG). He tried to make things happen..sometimes when nothing was there. From statements I have heard about Briscoe he is the talk of the combines. Cal sure is touting his successes in the combines that are happening. I bet he will make it. I will not bet against him. I think he is more than what he was at UK and at UK he WAS good.
Before January, Briscoe looked like a 1st rounder, and even had a triple double. Something happened, and he also put on about 15 lbs mid season. He's probably a head case which explains him going on a diatribe about no longer playing at Kentucky. Good luck to the kid, but nobody is going to miss him.
You can call him a head case without knowing him personally and what he may or may not be going through in his personal life? You got it going on a lot better than I do.
