CBS Sports editor not buying that Ivisic will be a contributor this year

May not play much if Onyenso and Bradshaw are healthy. People severely overhyping this guy.
Then the kid made a mistake coming here. He wants to be in the NBA next year and is trying to get to the first round. That’s not happening if he doesn’t play.

It’s not Cal’s style to bring in someone that is being touted as a potential first rounder and leave them on the bench.

With out injury track record, I'd be VERY surprised if Bradshaw and Ugo are 100% healthy to start the season (including conditioning), and remain healthy all year in respect to these injuries. We are going to need Ivisic at some point. I'm not sure why else Cal would have gotten a 3rd center if he didn't have some doubts on Bradshaw and Ugo.

What about Sharpe? He came here, didn't play and was drafted high the next year. Not sure you can say it's not Cal's style.

Different situation. Sharpe didn’t need to play himself into the first round. He was locked for the first already. Ivisic has to play himself into the first round. He’s a projected second rounder right now.

Sure.

I never heard anyone talk about orzbutor Humphries very highly.
Most of our fans do as you are saying, if you can't watch that kid move and know he's a decent ball player then that's a dif story. The dude is making step back 3's from 25 ft. That doesn't change in America.
Yep many can’t see that movement you’re talking about, but if you’ve seen it, especially in person, you often recognize it.

I haven’t seen much tape of him, but I know he’s got offensive skills and the size that can’t be taught.

Who's that guy?
And what is his problem, not too many BB players that are that tall, let alone as coordinated as he is supposed to be. I have to wonder if this writer isn't about two feet shorter than Ivisic.

Looks like he may be right, Burks has actually done some things in the time he’s been out there. I think much like Thiero I could see him develop into a contributor pretty early in his career here.
We need multi-year role players. Very glad to have guys like them.

Hope this isn't another ish show this year like the Sharpe situation.
So far, that's where it's heading. That clown article about the bigs during the game didn't say anything, it just proved that guys are going to be buddy buddy when they're winning and getting another game closer to the draft, even if they're not playing. I'm hoping a decent percentage of fans outside of RR knew exactly what was going on with Sharpe.

Love that! Did they say anything else about Big Z by chance? Impressed by anything in particular? Will he be one of our most talented guys?
Just pointed out how he can run the floor and shoot the three. Seemed to be saying the style we are playing now fits Big Z's strengths. Mentioned how some people are saying he isn't that good yet or how he can't play the way we are playing now but that isn't the case.

Just going by what this guy said. I haven't seen him. Just wish we had him for Kansas.

Let's be honest...nobody has any real idea how Z will adjust to college basketball. He wouldn't be the first to come in and tear it up, and he wouldn't be the first to come in and massively struggle. Heck, who knows how many minutes Cal will even play him.

I used to be the worst at projecting how well these players would perform, but was left disappointed so often. Heck, I thought Khalil Whitney and Boston would be absolute studs at the college level. We know how that turned out. I personally have chosen to stay away from projections or expectations...that way I am pleasantly surprised when a player performs real well, and not as disappointed when they don't.

Z is a good player that's going to struggle with the speed and physicality of the college game. And especially the officials in the SEC. Worst officials in basketball.

He moves better laterally than first thought. But he is weak. He makes Mitchell look like a power guy.

If he plays more than 10 minutes per game I will be surprised.
