Cats vs EKU tues...

Squires leads off with a 2 bagger, but is thrown out on a great play by Colonel RF trying to go to 3rd. 0-0 going to the 2nd.

‪End of 1: UK 0, EKU 0. Cats got a leadoff hit by Squires but he was erased on nice throw from RF to 3B trying to tag up. ‬

‪End of 2: #Kentucky 5, EKU 0. Should have been an even bigger inning for Cats but Colonels get out of bases-loaded, no-out situation with a K and double-play grounder. ‬

EKU plates 1 run in the T3rd, it is now 5-1 UK. Did anyone else hear them say on the broadcast, that Luke Heyer was the National player of the week ?

Only thing the Cats aren’t doing exceptionally well right now is running the bases. Too many easy outs on base paths. #nitpick

Harper probably deserved better that inning. I don’t think Johnson read the double or triple very well coming off the bat. Both could have been outs with a good jump.

Ryan Johnson playing is pretty gutsy but it doesn't sound like he is as sharp as normal.

Heyer's 2nd error of the year would get him down below .900 fielding. Not good.

Kinda stinks to have your 3 hole safety squeezing.

I know order isn’t as big of a deal after the 1st inning or 2, but that gets to me a bit. Guess that’s just me thinking about a traditional 3 hitter tho.

Luke Heyer grand slam has extended Cats' lead to 16-5, B7. He's come off his SEC Player of the Week honor and started working on defending it this week.

From 6-5 in the top of the 6th to 11-5 in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs. That include a strike out by Dawson where he reached on a passed ball by the catcher. Grand slam by Heyer puts him up on Collett for the HR team lead. 16-5 Getting brutal.

Heyer deserves 3 spot. I know some don’t want to rock the boat, I’m sure he is a team player...but he needs as many ABs as possible.

Pompey's consecutive on base streak is probably over with that strikeout.
