He had committed to Michigan but asked out of his letter after Harbaugh left.
Should, he was one of MI's most highly thought of players. Not that it matters much, but does that bump up our '24 class ranking at all? I would think so.
This class on paper looks like it could move us up a little more with the quality, depth and speed.Really like the speed these '24 LB signees are bringing.
Two top ILB's in Devin and Jaden Smith. Our defense is looking stout for years to come.
Steven Soles has already moved to ILB, article on TOS about the move a few days ago. Guy can really run.Don't forget Antwan Smith, who I also think will move inside.
Hard to tell from highlight videos, but if Jaden Smith is a legit 6'3, he looks bigger than 200 lbs. If he could bulk up to about 235 or so, he could possibly be a SLB
So, in a couple of years, the LB corp could be
Jack: Jacob Smith
MLB: Devin Smith
WLB: Antwan Smith
SLB: Jaden Smith
Would be quite easy for the play-by-play guys... "tackle by Smith" would be an easy guess if they are unsure 🤣

Norman suppose to be a linebacker that can move also. Not only do these kind of players bolster the LB room but it also should improve our kickoff and punting teams with guys this size that can run.Steven Soles has already moved to ILB, article on TOS about the move a few days ago. If you haven't seen Norman's film, check it out. Norman covering kicks....they guy's like a bullet.Norman suppose to be a linebacker that can move also. Not only do these kind of players bolster the LB room but it also should improve our kickoff and punting teams with guys this size that can run.
You forgot Caleb ReddAn under appreciated part of Stoops....he has uncanny ability (compared to all former UK coaches as his benchmark) to pick up talent to the roster. His contacts, making UK a place to come if option A fall thru (all the portal kids), etc... So now to the Smith Lber....how does the LBer room shake out... is very exciting to imagine
Maybe after 2024 (so I'll exclude the current Srs in Dumas, JJ Weaver, Deryck Jackson, Devin Rayner)
Jack - Fearby, Noah Matthews, Jacob Smith
Will - Jaden Smith/Antwtan Smith, Steven Soles
Mike - Javont Brown/Devin Smith
Sam - Alex Afari, Grant Godfrey
I am assuming Jerod Smith and Brian Robinson will outgrow Jack Lber and move to interior Dline by then.
True, also wouldn't be surprised if Jaden Smith and/or Norman end up a S.You forgot Caleb Redd
Redd's high school coach called Redd a 'special, special talent.' He was a monster rushing the QB with a ton of QB sacks. Was listed as the 62-64 best edge in high school football. You forgot Caleb Redd
yep, three of the front seven could be all smiths. All 4 are top tier talent, now to the weight room and developmentAll the Smiths!!!
People like to take shots at Buffano but wasn't he Redd's primary recruiter? Pretty significant keeping MO and OU away.Redd's high school coach called Redd a 'special, special talent.' He was a monster rushing the QB with a ton of QB sacks. Was listed as the 62-64 best edge in high school football.
If you count him, I believe it jumps us up 1 spot to 24th on Rivals. Not that it matters much, but does that bump up our '24 class ranking at all? I would think so.
Yes, UK and Kansas was neck and neck at the end. He said that us being SEC, plus when he was here he felt at home, everyone was always nice to him, liked the coaches and the plans they had and the players told him they liked it here. Some of the stuff that put us over the hump. Getting a guy from that area is a big deal. Not easy to do.People like to take shots at Buffano but wasn't he Redd's primary recruiter?
